| Silverchair – Luv Your Life Lyrics

This song seems to be rather miserable, despite what most people get from the title.
"...and I'll pay for sanity but sanity don't come cheap" means he'd give anything to be happy, to be normal, but he feels it's something he'll never have, or something he'll have to work harder than anyone else to have. "You don't know the truth/and I love your life," seems to me, that Johns is saying that he is jealous of people who never see the bad aspects of life, never notice the harsh truth of things, and he wishes he had their ignorance because it's better than living in the bitterness of reality, he's telling them to love their lives because they're better than his own. |

This song to me, is about desperate obsession. Being so darkly obsessed and in love with someone that you'd do asolutely *anything* for that person just to look at you, notice you, love you back... and everywhere you go, all you're thinking about is that person, you want to be with them and be a part of them, you'd do anything whatsoever for that person. |

While a few of the above meanings are accurate (the whole 'Thom wrote it about R+J thing'), it is also true that the creators of the movie sent Thom Yorke the last scene of the movie where Romeo and Juliet commit suicide together, so he would write a song for it, and that's where the inspiration came from, that last desperate moment of the film. Too bad that they never put this song in the movie, only played it for the ending credits. |

I believe this song is about being sort of apathetic and numb because of medication, careless about her life and the trouble she's gotten herself into, yet still wanting someone to save her from herself, from her self-mutilation, but nobody cares. People blame her for making herself a f***-up, she feels useless, she wants to make her point but she can't really make sense of anything because she's trapped inside herself. |

This song is obviously about suicide. She's hit bottom; she doesn't care what anyone thinks of her anymore; she's fed up with being the outsider, so she's going to kill herself to get away from her miserable existence and the people who don't understand her. |

To me, this song seems to be about being in love with someone who no longer loves you, or maybe never did in the first place. He wants to forget about the person the song was written about, (You were easy/you are forgotten/You are the ways of my mistakes) but he can't, she's a part of him, as much as it tears him up. It's about the misery, the sadness of losing someone, the desperateness, the feeling of the bloody gash they left in your heart. There's the hope that that person will change, will love you, but they never will. |

This song, to me, is about depression and addiction - to more than just drugs- if it's drugs at all. Maybe he's addicted to feeling numb, he wants to make everything go away, and he can't, because he's "An addict with no heroin", heroin being the numbness he craves, and he can't have it, he has no means of making his life better. He knows the fact that his eyes are distorted, he doesn't want to see everything decaying and dying around him. It's a hopeless song. |

This song is not about Daniel Johns's girlfriend. It is about his obsession with death. It shows how depression weighs him down, and death is his way out somehow. He feels "like letting go" of life. |
