Topic of the day: "Maggots" and Music I don't care about Slipknot fans, unless we are talking about the rabid obsessive fans. Slipknot is NOT the best band. Korn is NOT the best band. These fans make comments about certain people (ie: me) being closed-minded for not liking Slipknot, yet they won't accept anything being better than Slipknot. Hypocrites. I used to [sadly] be like you. I grew out of it. Chances are you are all young and immature. Try looking at Slipknot for what they are. Look past the rabid obsession. See that they have an unnecessary amount of members. See that they scream shitty lyrics that have no meaning if you look deeper. See that they are sellouts. SLIPKNOT LUNCHBOXES. It isn't because they are mainstream that I claim they are sellouts, it's the excessive amount of merchandise. And before you call me a prep, and accuse me of listening to Blink 182 and Limp Bizkit; I'll just list a few -real- bands I listen to. In Flames. Iced Earth. Amorphis. Blind Guardian. They are quality. They aren't recycled, repeated lyrics. They don't have songs filled with 4-letter words. Open your mind, and realize that Slipknot isn't great. |

The bands true reason for the lyrics aside, this song has spawned too much annoying shit. These so-called "maggots" hear the lyric: "If you're 555; I'm 666" and figure, "Oh wow! Slipknot is Satanist! I should become a Satanist!" Normally, I couldn't care less. But, I have a friend that is a real Satanist, and trust me, it's not about sacrificing animals/people as some fans like to think. And from the false view on the lyrics, along with some other true meanings, comes this false image of Slipknot being complete badasses. They are comercialized trash (as of Iowa's release). They realized that with the self titled they were being played, so for some songs they softened, and others, they tried to further the "I'll kill you" image. Basically, Slipknot is a lie. Most (note: most) fans believe they are a group of murderers that want to express themselves, but in truth, they are a generic metal band. I have no clue why I wasted my time typing this, since I am assured that I will be replied to with the standard "maggot" reply of, "OMG UR SO GAY DUN EVER JUDGE ME PREP". |
