the love song of the Taxidermy album, I Adore You. definantly not like other "lovesongs". its so odd because i get all of these mental images of things happening when i hear the song but i don't know how to describe the emotion of it in words. its a lot like being scarred in a way, and keeping away, or being confined. and then "the one" comes and casts light into shadows. yes, thats about how it is. :) |

Hide From Time can be compared to the tales of both Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel. by saying that i mean, the tale of Sleeping Beauty involves her being asleep for years and the castle being surrounded by briars to keep daring heros (princes) away. but the one thing that made me think of Rapunzel is the fact that in this case, she is "inside her tower". as for the meaning of the song itself, it is about healing, in many ways. isolation and healing. |

this is one of the most unique songs on Taxidermy... it reminds me of some story i'd heard once before, a fairytale in fact. but yes, some parts of it can be percieved as someone who is very 1) rebellious and 2) dangerous to have as company. it is consequence in many ways. |

Cold Fish is amazing... there is an expression about seasons which goes "goes in like a lion and out like a lamb" ... and thats how Taxidermy is. it starts out with this song, an amazing and very energy-filled song and ends with the extremely gentle Weeds. i think this song is about intimidation... in human terms i guess. i don't know, it makes more sense in terms which have no words. but yes, intimidation. |
