Then we are all in agreement. THIS SONG KICKS ASS LIVE! This is my favorite song on the album but it sounds so much better live in concert. I will see them live in Oct. for the 4th time in the past year and so far they have played this every time. I suggest for those who havent seen Tool live, to get tickets and experience the greatest concert ever (especially when they play Triad) |

After reading Pyrrhic's comments, I listened through MC&IS and I truely believe it is a concept album based on teenage life. Im not too sure about the drunkeness, but you have a great point.
By the way I think this is the best SP song ever....great live in concert. |

If you take a look at the first part of the song, it says
"Black and white are all I see in my infancy"
"Red and yellow came to be, reaching out to me, let's me see"
To me this sounds like a reference to drugs: red and yellow came to be reaching out to me, lets me see, sounds to me like he was offered drugs and after he took them he was able to "see." I think he is tell us his personal experience with drugs and how they have expanded his mind. Before, when he was younger he may have been close-minded to certain things, but drugs have opened new doors for him.
