Metallica – One Lyrics 23 years ago
These are the lyrics to "One" from S&M. They added a tiny little bit at the end to jazz up the song when they were performing with the symphony.

Metallica – For Whom The Bell Tolls Lyrics 23 years ago
To me this song is just about war in general. Soldiers go off to war, defending their country, and are willing to give their life for a cause that they may not completely agree with or understand. The part, "For a hill men would kill, why? They do not know" could mean men are defending a hill (strategic point on a battle field) and they are willing to kill the enemy but the overall cause of why they are fighting they do not know. The part in the song referring to the men going insane is just a typical side effect of men going off to war. All the blood, death, and screaming sounds on the battle field are enough to rattle any man's sanity. Last of all, "Take a look to the sky just before you die" is the typical thing many people are said to do before they die. As they are looking up at the sky their life flashes before their eyes and they get one last glimpse of this world and try to take it all in.

Metallica – King Nothing Lyrics 23 years ago
"King Nothing" to me is a song about someone who is greedy. All the material posessions in the world and all the things that person wants to control mean nothing.

Metallica – Hero of the Day Lyrics 23 years ago
"Hero of the day" I thought was referring to the passing trends in society. How often is someone a hero one minute then their 15 minutes of fame is up and they swiftly leave the spotlight. People are looking for different heroes to fit differing occasions. Once we are done with our heroes we toss them aside and let the next hero take center stage. Like King Nothing said, it could be applied to people in the media spotlight. One minute they're on top, and the next everybody forgot about them.

System of a Down – Aerials Lyrics 23 years ago
This is what I have gotten out of this song.
"Life is a waterfall,
We're one in the river,
And one again after the fall."
Life is a waterfall to me means it's a mix of ups and downs. Life is full of turmoil. We are unified when times are easy, but when the times get tough we split apart. Hence, "We're one in the river And one again after the fall." My overall favorite part of the song are these two sets of lyrics.
"Aerials, in the sky,
When you lose small mind,
You free your life." and
"Aerials, so up high,
When you free your eyes,
Eternal prize."
I personally found the meaning of life within these sets of lyrics. To me those mean when you open your mind you can look past all the visible things and find true meaning. And when you free your eyes and open your mind then you have found the true meaning of life.
