Is it even possible to mind the meanings of these lyrics? I don't think so. I can make up some lyrics right now that sound Mars Volta-ish.

HA. That's what Mars Volta lyrics are to me. It's like... trying to read Russian.

The lyrics for all these mars volta songs are annoyingly incorrect. I know the lyrics themselves are ambiguous as hell, but there are some lines that have just been left out. COME ON MAN.
Also, does anyone know when a new Mars Volta CD is coming out. God I miss them. At The Drive In, too. |

OK... i am like the ultimate Hendrix fan. #1... this song was about a dream he had. #2... HELL FUCKING YEAH Hendrix did hard drugs. I mean i love the guy and i'll admit it. I mean he put acid in his head band so it will seep into his pores while he's playing. If that's not heavy drug use then I don't know what is. #3... although he did a shitload of acid... Hendrix was by no means a heroine addict.. #4... He died b/c he choked on his own vomit. He threw up sleeping pills in his sleep and because the sleeping pills worked, he didn't wake up during the throwing up. In turn... vomit seeped into his lungs and he internally suffocated. All of you guys need to brush up on your Hendrix facts. |

I think this song is about the hardships you will go through in life. Pain is inevitable but suffering is not. It is telling you that no matter what happens you need to be strong and stick to you morals. "Walk on" when things get rough and don't let these speed bumps get in your way. This is a truely amazing song... yet another one from and incredible band. |
