I think that "my girl" could very easily be the Statue of Liberty..... what she is supposed to stand for, why she was constructed, what she used to represent.....and how sad the are waiting for her to come back because the commercial society that we live in has completely cast aside her purpose and meaning. That just seems to fit as a good meaning for me anyway.... i guess it can be interpreted any way you like.... |

I saw OLP in concert just before their one man army cd came out and raine told the audience what the song was about before he sang it. He said it was about a real sick mother f$%^&*, a televangelist and by being a televangelist he was getting in our kids minds and in essence stealing babies be filling their heads with all the bible bullshit- intolerance, predjudice, homophobia, things like that. |
