| 50 Cent – In Da Club Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| everyone is entitled to their opinion, but i am yet to ever a good reason why hip-hop is not music. i'll emite, most commecial is complete shit like p-diddy, birdman, jay-z and shit like that. how they got big is beyond me. and i don't care what anyone says, 50 is not commercial hip-hop, he has been an underground legend in new york for, and no one sounds like him. people tend to say that rapping is just talking and stupid shit like that, how about you try to rap, i'll bet my left nut you can't. its a lot harder then it sounds, to get a flow goin, to rap with the beat. and now onto the beat, a lot of people also tend to think that all beats are just sampled from "real music", and in some cases(p-diddy) its true, but you listen to some real hip-hop, the beats are original, some its not real music cause the beats are made with a machine(i.e. a keyword or something to that effect) but where do you think they got the sounds to program into the machine, from real insturments, plus there are hip-hop groups out there that make their beats with insturments like any band would, guitars, drums, bass guitar, etc.. and also perform live everytime they play using insturments, one group are philidelphia legends, The Roots. another i've heard about hip-hop beats is that there is no rythem, therefore its music(i'm not making this up either, my brother said that to me) but if you really listen to it, there is, in all music there is always a steady beat thats changes from the verse to the chorus. and with all music the singer or rapper goes with the steady beat when singing or rapping. now i'm not sayin that everyone should now love hip-hop based on what i said, if you don't like it you don't like, be educate yourself before you shit on it. i love all different kinds of music, bands like choking victim, lifetime, catch 22, kid dynamite, the ataris, and other shit like that. plus i love hip-hop. some people like just cause its good to dance to at parties, or cause they're some rich kid from idaho who thinks they look cool drivin around mom's bimmer blastin it, and then theres people like me how appreciate it as real music. if you wanna hear some real hip-hop, check out- blackalicous, dead prez, aesop rock, the roots, talib kweli.. aiight i've rambled on enough here, i'm done. peace. | |
| Avril Lavigne – Complicated Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| oh yeah, twotonetony, from the bands you mentioned i see that you're into more political punk, if you haven't heard them yet, you should check out, leftover crack, choking victim(LoC and CV are really the same band, but just a different drummer, they stopped goin by CV a couple years ago), INDK, no-cash, morning glory, hopeless dregs or humanity, and thats about all i can think of right now, but check'em out, you'll like them. | |

|
to twotonetony- sorry bout the misunderstanding, i see where you were comin from now ... but on that unrelated note to me, man it don't matter who your first punk band was(anti-flag was a good choice though) the bands you listen aren't what make you punk, its whats in your heart and the way you live your life that make you punk. |

| The Strokes – New York City Cops Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| the thing about people bein to sensitive about sept. 11th, i agree for the part with that, it seems like companies are using that as an excuse to make money now. i've been seein all this shit for sale on TV and in magazines that are supposed to be to remember that day, but i don't think you need to buy something to remember it. in a way though i can understand why people are so sensitive about it, cause i know bein the new yorker that i am, it feels like a part of me missing everytime i see that beautiful nyc skyline without the twin towers. but yeah this song is really good and they should of put it on the album. | |

this goes out to -twotonetony(9-3-02)- about this comment he made--"yeah, almost every punk band...you know like the Unseen, Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, Casualties, Anti-flag OXymoron, Defiance, Discocks, Showcase Showdown...you know...all those punk bands singing about girls...." if i took what you said the wrong way, then i am truely sorry, but that came as kind of a wise-ass comment you made, implying that none of those bands sing about, now the casualites have a song(only one that i'm aware of, i don't listen to them because i think they have no talent and are horrible, but i have heard a shit load of their music, and have gone to one of their shows and no not warped tour, so i've heard/seen enough to come that conclusion) about girls which is called "punk rock love". so basiclly all i'm tryin to say is don't talk shit when you don't know what you're talking about. again i say if i misunderstood your comment i'm sorry but thats just how it came of to me. |

| -sometimes23- has a damn good point | |
| Avril Lavigne – Sk8er Boi Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| this song is basiclly about not "judging a book by its cover", having an open mind about people. which unfortionitly a lot of people can't seem to do that. i read through some of the comments people made here, and i've noticed that everyone seems to label her, as either pop, punk, skater, poser, and shit like that. now have you ever noticed that when you label people and then you get to know that person that you were completely wrong about what/who you thought that person was, and i noticed a couple people talkin about punk rock and how they think avril is a poser, now yes her music doesn't have the traditional punk sound but her ideals are "punk". the main one seems to be "just be yourself" which is what punk really is not just the music(yeah i'm talkin to you tsunamibomb420, theres so many different styles of punk music so its not just the music. punk is a way of life, a way of thinking. not what bands you listen to) avril is a very talented singer and has a lot goin for her with her music(in my opinion), unless you know her personally, then don't label her cause labeling people makes you sound like a fuckin idiot...... if you wanna talk to me about music, skating or whatever, my AIM is the same as the name i'm usin for this, feel free to hit me up. peace | |

| The Ataris – Your Boyfriend Sucks Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| question for all the girls here. most of the girls i know always say "aww you're so cute" and "aww, you're such a sweetheart" and shit like that. but why is it that girls always seem to go for the asshole guys that treat shity, and just wanna sex them. why is that? (don't get me wrong, i'm a guy, i wanna sex the girls too, but thats not the only thing i wanna be with a girl for, ya know). if someone could answer that for me, that'd make my life a lot easier, thanks. | |
| Operation Ivy – Unity Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| to "startinglinechick", i think you missed the meaning behind this song somewhat, while yes i agree with you about how war is really fucked up, and that the countries should solve their matters in peace instead of violence. the "war" jesse is talking about is the war between races(black, white, asian, etc.) not what people normally think of when they hear the word "war" ...... oh by the way, if you like LoC, choking victim, f-minus, and shit like that, the check out NO-CA$H. you'll fucking love'em. go to listen.to/no-cash to hear them | |

| this song is about growing up, and how confusing and scary it is to realize that you're not a kid anymore. at least thats how i feel about it and how i feel everytime i hear this song. | |
| The Jazz June – Excerpt Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| this is an amazing song. it think its about how fucked the world is and the people in the world that make it so fucked up. how people bullshit their way through life and never to take a look at themselves to see who they really are. | |

| Leftover Crack – So You Wanna Be A Cop? Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| this is a great song, but its actually a Morning Glory song. MG is Ezra's one man band, he plays everything in it, and uses a drum machine for the beats. its really really hard to get MG recordings but if you can find any, get them, all the songs are really good, especially "gang control" | |
