This song's got something of a B-movie vampire fest feel to it. The vampire's all out to seduce this sweet young gal and when she succumbs to his/her? evil ways, she in turn destroys everyone she once loved. |

| Rob Zombie – The Ballad of Resurrection Joe and Rosa Whore Lyrics

Great song. My theory is that it's about a guy named Joe who was royally shafted by his girl (Rosa), murdered, and his body given to this crazy doctor to experiment on. Joe ends up getting resurrected and goes after his former girl, dragging in poor Rachel, a prostitute friend of Rosa's who also just happens to look like her. Yah...that's my take on it. |

| Coheed and Cambria – The Camper Velourium III: Al the Killer Lyrics
| 21 years ago

Okay, continuing my non-offical rambling from FoH and BoF:
Feeling betrayed by Newo (*as seen in FoH & BoF*), Al decides to kill her after they met back up with Claudio. In my opinion, Al might see murdering Newo as a way of showing his friend Claudio just how evil women are. But before Al can act upon his plan, the colony they are on is attacked by the Monstar (*Formerly Claudio's father, Coheed*). A battle ensues between the Camper Velouruim and the Monstar, with Claudio having not only to deal with his flashbacks to the time his family died but also the fact that he is starting to succumb to the Sinstar virus (wihch will turn him into something worse than the Monstar). In the chorus and toward the end, it seems that Al is adds to the problem by egging Claudio on and telling about what he's been planning to do to Newo... |

This is continuing over from my thoughts on "Faint of Hearts", so I'll recap: I DO NOT believe that Al raped Newo. He may have wanted to, but I feel that Al restrained himself out of respect to Claudio, who was trusting him to watch over Newo while he was away from the ship. Al may have also developed a friendship with Newo, feeling that he could trust her because she was Claudio's. Newo may have opened up to Al and filled him in on the situation she and Claudio were invloved in. Seeing that she trusts him, Al in turn confesses all the vile things that he'd done in the past to women. The confession horrifies Newo so much that she begins treating Al like a threat. (Ending of "Faint of Hearts")
It's this one-sided friendship between Al and Newo that is the "relationship that makes no sense." The ringing phone in the opening is likely Claudio calling to check up on Newo. Al wakes up from a fitful sleep and overhears Newo, whom he trusted, telling Claudio that she thinks Al is going to try to rape and/or kill her. In Al's eyes, Newo may have seemed like his ideal woman, a person that would understand and accept him for what he was, but she turns out to be just as frightened as the rest. ("You weren't what I thought of you.") Al also seems to have discovered a diary Newo was keeping in which she states her fear of him, prompting Al to lose his temper. He knew he didn't love Newo, but he found himself caring deeply enough for her that it hurt him. And, considering his unstable mental state, Al response to Newo's 'betrayal' is to lash out, leading into the events of "Al The Killer." |

I don't think this about Al raping Newo, but there is an element of Al being a rapist/murder. Actually, after listening to this song repeatedly, I've come to the conclusion that it's Al confessing his past crimes to Newo. Intially, he felt that he could trust her becasue she seemed so "well-behaved". But after seeing Newo's horrified reaction, ("Did somebody take your tongue?"), Al thinks that she had tricked him into trusting her and is angry. He feels betrayed by her because he cared enough to admit that he was/is a "monster". The ending reference to the gun may be Al thinking of revenge OR Newo's belief that she must protect herself from Al till Claudio returns for her. |

Wheter or not this is a direct translation from German doesn't really matter to me at the moment. It's what the song seems to mean that I'm going to concentrate on.
Who's to say that it's actually about a child molesting priest?! It could be a deeply religious man who's unable to reconcile his homosexuality and is trying hard not act on it. This man have been "cured" by finding religon and is trying to convince another, younger man he's attracted to into doing the same. But he's failing... |

I like what miasnape said, but it's not exactly what goes through my brain in Auf Achse. The Jesus metaphor at the end always made think of the guy who wants everyone to think of him as this martyr for losing a girl he must have cared deeply about. He lost her because he was too cold, too distant to keep her, and now the guy just refuses both admit his faults and to let go. It's a song of sour grapes in my opinion. |

Symbolism and interpretations aside, this song is just enjoyable to listen to. And the mental picture of a worm dressed up as a doctor playing drums is kind of amusing... |
