to me, this song is the epitome of giving into a love that you initially didn't want to feel or give into because you had been hurt before and were scared of getting hurt again. it's the realization that without love, or the pain it can cause, life is so dull and worthless without emotion ("love or loathe, i just need to feel again"). so you realize you're over your scars and pain from the past, and you're ready to walk down the path of love again and take a risk. it's beautiful. |

this song, to me, means that a boy broke up with a girl, but she needs to get over him and let him go for him to realize that she is all he has left and that he wants her. so she gives up, waits "for countless hours" for him to come back, hoping that he would, although she would never measure up to be his ideal girl. maybe "we'll all come to an end" implies that he will never see what was in front of him, and there will be no use in waiting for him any longer ("the end"). his voice in this song sends shivers down my spine and got me hooked on the honorary title. although this song seems to be a bit hopeless, the music actually makes me feel hopeful and free. mmmm, love it. |

| i don't think this song is meant to be happy at all. like someone mentioned before, there is an element of pain in conor's voice. as i am currently in love with an ex boyfriend, and i'm everything he wants but he just won't realize it, these lines came into my head: "open your eyes...it[love] is standing right in front of you". i used to think this song was about realizing love is real. but i think now that it's conor trying to tell someone he loves to love him back, in a way. like, "hello? you're looking for love, i'm right here." that explains the pain and heartbreak in his voice. i think this makes tons more sense than it simply being a song about love. | |
