first of all, most "punk" bands who become pop-ularish usually become sellouts. if they dont, either they have really good integrity or they werent in the spot long enough. BUT, the main reason i am postin is to tell all you FUCKIN IDIOTS to stop sayin she aint punk, she cant play guitar, she cant skate....she sucks. we ALL KNOW. you can stop saying it. i think you even turned the avril lovers away from her, or at least away from this page. its over. time to move onto another song of hers and bash it, and her, there. ok?! |

Guys, Guys, and Girls. Everyone here agrees: AVRIL IS NOT PUNK. there hasnt been a post in like the last 300 that have said she is. ok, we all know now and can stop saying it!! I do have some complaints though about the ppl that post "real" punk bands. ok, if the 12-15 yr old population really liked punk, would they listen to Avril? NO. so putting names of "real" punk bands is stupid, pointless, and a waste of everyones time. Just think what would happen if your "real" punk bands became pop---ular. they would be like total sellouts! ok, so by putting up their band names your risking the good music by preaching punk to ppl who dont care in short give it up. the ppl who like avril dont give a fuck about punk or "real" punk bands. One last complaint. i know, im gonna piss some ppl off but hey, why not join the croud? OK, since when did punk mean the absolute DISRESPECT of women?? you guys only care about your punk music and fuckin chics. "preps are only good for sex cuz there easy sluts." ok, thats a stereotype if i ever heard one. girls are girls and, even ones you hate, deserve respect. the respect every person should recieve. that means you shouldnt come on her talking about how girls are only good for sex. that isnt bein punk, thats bein an ass. everyone can play with the cards they're dealt. id be the first to admit, america buys alot of imports, but they dont pay more than any other country buying. granted, they buy the most, and sell it to make money. what im saying is that while america is looking out for its citezens interest, ie: buying alot of imports and selling the excess, other countries dont try. thier political leaders use what little money the country has on themselves and say theyre doing it for the good of the state. other countries dont hate us because we live well. i hate to say jealousy, because it isnt really that. they wish they could live in a country where the governement looked out for them. but, to stop imigration, their political leaders pread lies, not just in their country, but worldwide. everyone has some illusion that america is this evil state that prostitutes itself to the "country of the week" so to speak. if they do, it is for the general good. so other countries really hate us because of what we do to offer everyone that lives here a good life. I do agree with you on religion though. it is the root of all problems. however, dont blame just the muslim comunity. christianity has bloodied its robes just as much as the muslims. the crusades are a good example. even last centry, the pope made a pact with hitler because he thought it would be good, if hitler became world ruler, that the worldwide government be catholisism. not because god would be happy, but because it would make him a wealthy man. and more recently, not killing and wars, but look at all the priests who have been found out as far as the child molestation. |

You misunderstood me. i am not a patriot. im glad i live where i do because of freedom and i like others not being persecuted because of who they are and what they believe. i am quite aware that other countries hate us, and i agree, they have quit a reason. they are picked at for all their resources. they make us rich while their own citezens starve. That said, i do not have a problem with it. they are very capable of holding on to thier resources, and making money in exports. they do make money. But thier government spends money the way they see fit. which is to make themselves and other powerful men wealthier and thus more powerful. they starve because thier government sucks, not ours. The differance is ours' does whats best for our general citizens, and rightly so. the problem is they do it for us as well, and thus make the already wealthy wealthier. leaving the starving hungry and the homeless with out homes. that is not our fault not our responcibility. we thought it was once, remember vietnam? as for the rebellion, my aim is userjoel16. im not on all that often, but i will try to im you. i am content, however to discuss our issues here. |

You know, punk is not original. When are you guys going to figure that out? The clothes you wear are not that differant from what they wore in the sixties. Have any of you idiots heard of "Hippies"? Well, if not, I'll fill you in. Much like punk, Hippies started out "non-conformist". Rebels. Yes, non-conformist is in quotes for a reason. Punk existed, for a while, for those who were outcast. Like the Hippie movement, it has become popular. Do you know why? Because it is in the heart of every kid in America to be a rebel. What you guys dont get, is that you dont prove anything. Your doing exactly what is expected of you by all your peers when you rebel. What really bothers me on this page though, is that everyone says bands like Blink and Avril killed punk. Your wrong. You guys did. Being non-conformist is fine, but when you lable it "punk" and hate everyone differant than you, you have destroyed it. No, Avril is not to blame. You are. Punk hasnt existed since the first Mother Fucker gave it a name. And by giving it a name, you have, not only allowed, but provoked, big indistry into making profit on it. The "underground scene" does not exist. No matter how good you think an underground artists' music is, you forget that writing and singing is his job. His goal, like with every working person is to get promoted. Yes, you guessed, he gets promoted when he is discovered, not by "punks" but by the general public. That is where he makes his money. This "punk" group is a trend and has been since the day you gave it a name. Go on believing that your a part of some "non-conformist" group, aglobalthreat. Someday you may realize that "non-conformist" and "group" cannot go together . The Global Threat was punk itself, not capitalists punk bands who make money. |

| Well vapid, you hit on the point everyone is missin. Punk is a lifesyle, the way you think, who you are. No one has any right to say wether she is or isnt punk, because you are not her. So you have NO incling of who she is inside. What really pisses me off about most of the postings is that punks are non conformists. Thats fine. But ppl like you, who stereotype preps and others you dont like, are the reason punk has died. It has become mainstream because no one likes getting picked on, and thats what you do to ppl you dont like.
