It seems like this song made NIN more popular than the song Head like a hole,...or maybe I'm wrong. It just seems like until Closer came out most people I knew ignored NIN, and then all the sudden everyone likes them, thats just my own personal observation though. |

I'm not completely sure what Depeche Modes meaning of this song is, but I know how it makes ME feel. It conjures images in my mind of being up in the mountains, it's dark, the stars are bright, the moon is full. I can hear sounds of animals in the darkness, although they are friendly towards me. I can feel the breeze, and smell the freshness of the air. I am at peace. I am one with nature, and the darkness. I feel so exhilerated. To ME this song represents the night. Something of mystery. Something I love, and each day, I long for it. The night is full of beauty, and intrigue. it calls out to me it satisfies me. The night is my favorite time. It is quiet, and the creatures of the night are safe from prying eyes. This is what this song means to ME. The images I see when listening to D.M. just prove to me what great artists D.M. truly are. If an artist can convey such emotion, and imagery they are truly great, and Depeche Mode IS truly great! |

Great song! I was about 13 or 14 when I first heard it. I wish NIN did more music like this. It is truly wonderful. You can feel the raw emotion while listening to this song. I'm not as much into NIN now as I used to be [they have changed way too much in my opinion], but I still appreciate Pretty Hate Machine. I went through my early teenage years listening to this stuff, but now I'm into more underground stuff [still electronic though]. Anyway this song is Classic 1st rate NIN in my opinion. |

HUMANS CANNOT BE TRUSTED! Read the last couple lines of the song. Thats what there saying, Humans are just an animal, basically an upright ape. These creatures called humans are often sadistic, and cruel, and they think they are supeor to the other creatures of this world. Humans are obviously cowards [not all of them], becaus they have to use guns, and traps [like a wimp] to kill animals. I'd like to see what would happen to some asshole without his guns and his traps hunting a lion .I'm sure the lion would whack his ass quick.He would show him who's boss! but of course there are very few humans respectfull enough to give the animal a chance to flee. An unarmed creature is no match for a human with a gun that can shoot long distance. Watch your back! Dont let your guard down around humans. You never know what they will do next! Trust me I know! |

I remember the days of Ministry, back when I was still a teenager. I think they revolutionized alot music, and It's too bad they faded away, becaus I really enjoyed there music. When I was a teenager, Ministry's music was something new, and different. It was the music all the misfits listened to. Ministry was way ahead of it's time, and I dont think people were quite ready for there music. The style of there music is only now beggining to be realized. I posted another comment on the song Her ghost in the fog, a least I think thats what its called, anyway, I was saying that you know , I think c.o.f. is very artistic and stuff. I like there photos of woman, the woman are very pretty, its very artistic ,and beautifull. I was also saying I like c.o.f. lyrics, and I like the instruments too, but I cant get over the vocals, I think the vocals are horrid. Other than that there good. I think that alot of people are attracted to c.o.f. becaus of the image they portray, however I dont really think these are there true selves Just a stage act. I have to give C.O.F. credit they are very artistic, and I like there posters, T shirts, ect., but I'm not really into there music. Dont get me wrong the instruments, and lyrics are VERY good. I just dont like the vocals. I realize alot of people are into C.O.F., and thats cool, its still better than alot of other stuff out there. I'd listen to C.O.F before Id EVER listen to [c]rap music. Anyways, they do have talent. I just cant stand the vocals. Although. I guess the lead singer is part of there popularity. Am I right? |
