This song is definitely not about abstaining from drugs. To me, it seems that it is about the numb or BLANK feeling that the drugs/alcohol give him.
He doesn't care for anything that gets him too high, cuz he doesn't want to feel HIGH... he wants to feel NOTHING. |

I also LOVE that verse, makeaplantoloveme, but I like how they do it live too. When I saw them live he sang the last two lines of that as, "but I got so damn drunk and retarded, I fell down the stairs and puked in my shoes." That's pretty fun too.

Whoa, I totally can see how this song is about a hooker now.. thanks glamorous sunrise for the insight. Anyways, I think that he falls in love with the hooker after one night, she has to leave because she knows the cops are stuypid, then they arrest her so Julian or whoever the main character is therefore agrees that NYC cops a stupid and wiants to get away from new york because he has lost his LOVE. Simple. Anyways, NYC cops suck ass I don't give a shit about Sept 11th, because that doesnt make it any more acceptable for them to be complete assholes all the time. |
