"Before the bullets before the flies before authorities take out my eyes" I belive this means before he died, before the media (flies) came and before the police made you think what they wanted you to think. It's really about JFK, so before he got shot, before the media made him a martyr and before the police issued a statement that Lee Harvey Oswald killed him from the book depository (which is impossble because of the trajectory of the bullet). I dunno, I could go into more detail.. maybe later. |

| I've come up with another theory for Mechanical Animals. Suppose all the songs in the white side are when Omega is in a coma. He awakens when the mass Omega section happens (Starting after Posthuman, I want to disappear.) and at Fundamentally Loathsome he ponders as to whether to kill himself to join himself in the coma world with his coma white. Ultimately he decides not to kill himself and Last Day on Earth, isn't really the end of the world, but the end of his coma world. Meh just starting to develop this theory, give it time. | |

Alright, if you look at the booklet of Mechanical Animals one side seems to be all white, with pictures of drugs and comatose type things. It also has a picture of what I believe is a genderless Alien. The other side is mostly black and has a lot of suicide and glam rock symbols and feelings, this side pictures Omega. Now the Alien doesn't have a name, and I guess I was being presumptious that it's name was Alpha. I believe it is Alpha however because it is the exact opposite of what Omega is, which in the greek alphabet, Alpha comes first, Omega last, so they are opposite from each other. There is no proof his name is Alpha, but I do believe MA is a story of two. About the mixed up lyrics, no clue, but maybe that's the order they should be listened to to understand the album, haven't tried that yet. Ziggy Stardust, well I didn't get time to listen through it again.. however I went and bought The Man That Sold The World and was wondering if you have a convincing storyline for that.... Exams are coming but I'll pobably gey a chance to listen to Ziggy, or at least look at the booklet before the end of the week. And lastly, that song Bryant posted. To each his own, but I find it that if Relient K went to all the trouble to write a song about Manso, well I find that a great flattery more than a bash. And the Satan remarks throughout the song... I don't think Manson has ever mention worship Satan in any of his songs... Unless you can prove me wrong. |

The only concept album Dream Theater has put out was Scenes from a Memory, it's really good. As for the rest of the questions and comments, I'll repy to those when I find my Mechanical Animals CD, and when I can get back my Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust CD from a friend, I should be able to reply by tomorrow. For now however I remember that if you take the cover and put it above the Coma White lyrics (at least I think above them) there is a website. Try to figure it out, weird place. www.comawhite.com |

| You're welcome Akasha, I enjoy looking at albums as a whole and as a concept, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Manson and Dream Theater seem to do it the best. Omega and the Mechanical Animals is a take on Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, or at least I'm pretty sure... | |

| This song does seem to be about Columbine, but the title is another JFK reference. "Kill King 33 Degrees" The king being JFK and 33 degrees being the line of latitude nearest Dallas Texas (10 miles north), where Kennedy was assassinated. He was also the 33rd president. | |

Another interesting fact about the kid who committed suicide and who had ACS in his CD player: His father went on a rally to de-rail Manson, so to speak and used to say "He is a hand grenade that goes off in teenagers head." Or something along those lines, which reflects in the song "And I was a hand grenade that never stopped exploding." As for the suicide king, in some card games the suicide kings is valued as the highest card, higher than any of the other 51 card, so maybe Manson is say he's just a boy, who holds all the power, playing the trump card. |

| Lots of Kennedy references in this song and through out Holy Wood. "If Christ was in Texas" being where JFK was shot. "If Jack was the Baptist/ we'd drink wine/ from his head" speaking about how John F. Kennedy was a martyr in American history and how everyone rallied support and praise for him, after he was dead. He died for the people, or at least that's how the people who consider him like Christ perceive it. | |

In my opinion Coma White represents everything we grow dependant on; drugs, money, etc. But in the end Coma White always goes away. The reason Coma White might be named such is because, in a comatose state you are dependant of everyone and everything around you, you cannot move, nor speak, or even eat, so you must depend on people to hel you. White because it's a bleak colour and chances of getting the item you depnd on and need are bleak and futile. To get into more detail, take the album Mechanical Album as a whole. Notice the lyrics are divided up into two sections, one is for Alpha, and one is for Omega, two different people, with different stories. Omega, meaning the last, seems to be a celebrity of some sort who is tired of the fame and glory and grows bitter. All songs asociated with the Omega sector are bitter and in essence he's holding onto his last (omega's meaning) threads of whatever. Alpha being first, comes from another planet, only to find his first (alpha meaning) look of earth a sad a bleak place, except for Coma White. Coma White is personified as a female character that Alpha grows dependant on, I think overall she symbolizes everything you want, but can't have. In the end Alpha can't have Coma White, as she is too far gone. The only question I have about the album is if and where Omega and Alpha's story intertwine, they should, I just can't find it. But that's just my take on the album... |
