Marziano, I feel for you. I actually got stuck in Lodi in the summer of '00 when my car broke down on the way home from Tahoe. It was something like two million degrees outside, my boyfriend had gotten e-coli from the hyatt, and was sick all over...whew. I can tell you, being stuck in Lodi sure isn't fun. |

Like many other CC songs, this song seems to deal with the pain of long distance relationships, and/or being left behind. Having someone so far away can feel as though they've left you (in the relationship sense), where in truth, they're just far away. The longing for her is the reason that he says goodnight, but the line "I think of you while she slips in something comfortable...I'll miss you while I'm slipping in between" suggests that they aren't together in the relationship sense, and that he's trying to move on. Lord, CC songs always have so much to say in such few words... gives you something to thing about. |
