I first heard this song when I caught the video. The music, lyrics and the video were simply haunting. Having fallen in love with someone I could not hold onto who passed through my life all too quickly, I felt like the song could have been written for me. For myself, emotionally, the song was simply devastating. |

The song reminded me that despite the bitterness we release on those we love because of the baggage our parents may have dumped on us, it's never too late to start all over again, to love the people that both caused us pain and those to whom we have in turn caused pain. It is in forgetting ourselves, starting over again. and loving others that we can be healed and can also become an instrument of healing. I think the song's message is very powerful and positive, and, despite the reference to the God of your childhood and allusion to reincarnation, carries a very Christian theme. |
