to me this song means alot...it kinda goes with what im going through right now. my ex broke up with me because she has feelings for another guy she used to talk to. there are certain parts that fit exactly... i still feel strongly for this girl and its like i dont exist to her. she told me he's not an option. "I thought with time you'd realize its over." but she is just too strung out on him. "you know id fight for you but how can i fight someone who isnt even there" he is out of state in the army. "dont make me promises, baby you never did know how to keep them well" she said that she wanted many more months with me a while back. so even though it wasnt a promise, it still fits. and now i want it all or nothing at all from her. |

This song really means alot to me. Just a couple of months ago at the beginning of October, my girlfriend broke up with me. I stuck around after she said that she was in love with another dude. I didn't want to believe that she would actually say that so I doubted it and this song really hit home. This song can mean many things to different people but the meaning is soooo obvious. You can take it two ways....1. You break up with someone who really means alot to you to see your options.... or the way I think of it.. Gary Allan covered this song recently and I first heard it today on GAC. Then I remembered that his wife had cancer and commited suicide.... "So you sailed away, into a grey sky morning. Now I'm here to stay, love can be so boring"...She died and left him there, she went into the heavens and left him on earth without her. "Nothing's quite the same now, I just say your name now." He misses her. Simple and the chorus. "Its not so bad, youre only the best I ever had. You dont want me back, youre just the best I ever had." He's saying that he knows she loved him when she left earth. When he says, "you dont want me back", She wants him to live his life on earth and not go back to her until he absolutely has to. Thats the way I think Gary Allan interprets the song. I like the way that outlook is also... |
