I've heard so many songs where the lyrics (sometimes subtle, sometimes blatant) are just about sex, and I just find that disgusting. Virginity is something you have just once, and for people (and, *teens*) to just throw it away to be grown up or fit in or whatever, is so idiotic, in my opinion. I'm sure many of the people at my high school (Yep, 15 here) have lost their virginity, and for what? Just to have a boyfriend/girlfriend and feel special for a little while, before that person undoubtably 'dumps' them?
I'm most definitely waiting until marriage. In fact, I've never had a boyfriend. I just knew they didn't care anything about who I was (although there's probably good people out there, somewhere) or my *self*, and so when everyone was going out with everyone (and doing shisht knows what), and I was getting asked out a time or two, I just stepped back. Why the hell, anyway?

This instrumental is great, and just awakens a mood in me and even offers a bit of inspiration for me when I listen to it, and like King Nothing, I also get an impression in my mind that fits with the song, although it's about one of my own characters, like for her what the Imperial March is for Darth Vader. This is a very nice track, indeed. |

What it means to me is someone is being underestimated as they give the same advice Bad Religion does, and that they really aren't who everyone thinks they are. "..Don't sell me short / I might not be who you thought.." |

I agree completely with Bulkyone. He's singing about people who expect the world was to be created and shaped just exactly to *their* specifications, and of course it wasn't, so all they do is complain. Funny thing is, if it were exactly how they wanted, they'd find some other garbage to complain about. |

This song is one of my favorites, and the chorus is the best. I think that it is saying that what we believe in and what we value have held us back, when thinking rationally and not holding beliefs long since past our use for them could have brought us so much further ahead than we are, and that our being the only "conscious" (using that VERY lightly, mind) beings on the planet has given us such a high opinion of ourselves that we do not see the horrendous acts of destruction and defilement we are performing to the Earth and its OTHER inhabitants. We can't seem to get that we're not the only ones that live here. So, in a rather large nutshell (like a walnut, or maybe even a coconut [but those are fruits, right?]), it means if we look at the world, what's considered to be right and good and the Truth, it will turn out to be false, and have been right under our nose the entire time. |

To me, the melody isn't the most important part; I like songs mostly for their lyrics. One song that has the absolute worst (in my opinion, of course) music but incredible lyrics would be Bad Religion's "Faith In God". This is a good song in many respects, and who cares about the grammar; it's the message it gets across. And, it has special meaning for me, since certain people have tried to get me to change myself. Who cares what anyone else thinks about anything? |

What I think he's saying is that optimists can only see the good and therefore can't realize the corrupt and current state of the world, and that pessimists alone can see the true state of things. This is a great song for anyone who sees the negative (real) facets of today. |
