i think its about people being thought to be crazy when they're not and its the way that the "inmates" are treated the movie/play "one flew over the cuckoo's nest' is about that subject... so king nothing already kinda said that ;-) To me it's also about feeling that things never change and it'll always be the same (see first couplet) |

To me it sounds like it's about being stuck in a situation you can't handle and that you want to make it better (dying to live) but you see no way out (trapped under ice). And the part about "No one knows, no one hears what I say " and "screaming, can't hear my call" appears to me as if no one cares for the person anymore, or at least it seems so to that person |

if you listen to just the music... not the lyrics than this song isn't so great at all, can't believe how people consider this the best song ever. but well that's just my opinion you can have your own :-) Still a kick-ass song though, don't get me wrong but it's never to be my best song |
