I can't believe no one has ever commented on this song. This lyrics right here have to be one of the most emotional writings I've ever read in my entire life. As far as I know, this is the most underrated band in the world. It almost makes me angry how this band doesn't get the recognition it should...fuck. Mike, Louie, Scott and CRegg (the original BHC line up) DON'T STOP MAKING MUSIC...GO ON! PLEASE! I can't believe how no one has commented on this song yet, and many other Police songs on this site. Anyway, I think this is a very pretty straight forward song about a guy who's in love with a woman but he really lacks self-confidence. That's why he sweats so much and talks about his big feet. I love how the piano riff bends with the actual music in the intro, and Sting's whisper is awesome. I like how he says "heebie-jeebies"! it's funny. anyway, probably nobody is gonna read this, but meh... Best line in the song: "I let it ring twice before I chicken out and decide you're not at home", how many times have we done that huh? |

This song is AWESOME. mainly because it gives a closure to the entire cd. If you look carefully, on the first song of this cd (doll) he says "i've never been so scared", and to me it sounds like a "shy" song. on the other hand, there's new way home, in which he says "I'm not scared, I'm not scared, I'm not scared". the whole theme of the song sounds like he's not afraid of anything now, he learned through the up's and down's in his life (to us, the entire cd), that he shouldn't be scared of anything. there, that's what I think |
