AFI – Girl's Not Grey Lyrics 23 years ago
Jebus, when did retard become a state of mind? Go away punkergurl and Goldfingermojo. How did AFI sell out? This is the direction their music has been taking, listen to parts of "The Art of Drowning". They were already heading in the direction of Sing the Sorrow. Just because they're not singing things like "I Wanna Get a Mohawk" that satisfies your teenage angst that the world sucks and everyone against you doesn't mean they sold out. Is there something wrong with writing beautiful music that people like? If you think there is do us a favor and shut yourself up in your room and don't procreate, it's just gonna hurt the world. I've been an AFI fan for quite a while, and i think the new stuff is absolutely awesome, its great to hear Davey taking advantage of his lyrical skills and beautiful voice.

Līve – The Dolphin's Cry Lyrics 23 years ago
Ed actually says in several interviews that it starts out about sex on the beach, then it grows into something more... It's the initial love for the person they're with, then being overcome by a feeling of total love and happiness... A state of total bliss, I'd dare to say Ed's perfect world in a way. Ed is a huge proponent of love, not so much the sex kind, but the "love thy neighbor" type. This song is just kinda about getting lost in a tide of love and feeling completely at peace with the world kinda thing.

Athenaeum – What I Didn't Know Lyrics 23 years ago
This is such a wonderful song... I think the lyrics kinda say it for the song, but I always felt like it was a way of saying sorry for everything he screwed up in the past, because he didn't know he was hurting the person ( from the lyrics I gather an old girlfriend or love, somethin like that) and he didn't realize how much he loved her until she was gone. it's a beautiful song, incredibly sad, but absolutely beautiful.

Side note - THIS BAND IS STILL AROUND. PLEASE support them all you can!!! If you like their music, go out and buy their CDs, they need all the help they can get. They really are a great bunch of guys, so if you can help them out please do!

AFI – The Days Of The Phoenix Lyrics 23 years ago
I'd always heard this song was about their days back watching bands at The Phoenix in East Bay, SF... It's reminiscing about the past, and the way things used to be. Saying "No one could see us then" was about the anonymity that came from being in the crowds then, and "No one could touch us then" was being on top of the world, feeling like life was wonderful. It's a song about the past, and all that comes with it.
