I think the song is written about people like you. Threw you the obvious And you flew with it on your back ____ everyone thinks that they "know" the meaning of his songs and accept the most obvious interpretations without questioning. It seems like the writer has been pouring his heart out into his music and we trivialize it and play it on the radio and make shallow, ignorant classifications like "this song is awesone" without reading into the deeper meanings. Then he says we are thrown the obvious, to see if we see more behind it expecting too much from a shallow, uncaring audience they dont look at him as a person, but as a song. a method of entertainment. |

i agree with zenderboy its about the quest for extreme, adrenaline, living on the edge, et al. please people, read the lyrics, listen to the song, and THEN post what you think its about. not before. having driven some fast cars, i can see that this is a good metaphor as well as a good direct manifestation |

I think adian had it all wrong. The song is about his girlfriend, and she always was depressed and suicidal and all, and she got used to seeing herself like that, so she wanted people to think she was depressed even when she wasn't. She's constructing an image for herself. the reference to nosferatu means she plans to kill herself- its a vampire the last part shows her further obsession with death, presumably her own |
