| The Smiths – I Know It's Over Lyrics | 20 years ago |

richeye-- People talk about his wit, but, like he says: "It's easy to laugh/ It's easy to hate/ It takes guts to be gentle and kind". That reminds me of the Oscar Wilde quote: "Anybody can sympathise with the sufferings of a friend, but it requires a very fine nature to sympathise with a friend's success." Not entirely the same, but similar. And Morrissey is a hude Wilde fan. |

| Placebo – Brick Shithouse Lyrics | 21 years ago |
| The 'Brick Shithouse' is supposedly a homophobe as well. Death to them all :) | |
| Placebo – Blue American Lyrics | 21 years ago |

About some slavery, yes, "uncle tom" referencing "uncle tom's cabin" Also saying that self-help books are ineffective. |

| Placebo – Black Market Blood Lyrics | 21 years ago |

It sounds like he's talking about a girl on her period. Ew, I'm sorry. |
|
| Placebo – Black-Eyed Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Glad to hear it's actually mocking angsty teens (perhaps even "Teenage Angst"? Aw, sibling rivalry, how cute!) Good song. |

| Placebo – Bionic Lyrics | 21 years ago |

Yep, it's been said a lot (by the band) that it is about robot sex. What enemy would that be, itsatsix? I can only think of Limp Bizkit. That asshat. |

I agree with ladyboygrrl. Perhaps the "there are no second chances" line is about thinking twice about drowning yourself tonight? |

I think this song is about religion. That's what Brian means when he says "the light". When you think of all the world's religions and how a lot clash, it does seem to divide everyone in the end. "every mink walks two by two" is obviously referencing Noah's ark and "we gamble to be born again" is speaking of reincarnation, I believe. "Any means in your horizon Heaven in a tourniquet" If it makes you feel better go ahead and believe in it. "The after life to keep your eyes on" Everyone's just worried about where they go when they die anyway. "bitter pill you take you take today" For some people, all this religion stuff can be scary -OR- they are forced to believe in it, just like Brian was. "With expert levitation forward, polished to the nth degree" They try to make it seem so perfect, but when looked at how it ends up affecting the world, it really isn't (ergo, the chorus) |

Actually, 37 Celcius is normal body temperature, Brian chose this temp because it's just one little degree off. They all look freezing in the video, though. |

This song seems a bit on the fatalist side. Sort of like Bowie's "Five Years". That's the feeling it evokes in ME, anyway. Lovely, weird little song. |

I really wish I could figure out what the hell this song is about, really. I understand the chorus well enough I suppose ;) Velvet Goldmine is my favourite movie ever. |

| David Bowie – Kooks Lyrics | 21 years ago |

I've heard that Bowie wrote this song for his son, Zowie. I like it when I'm in a grand mood, but usually it's my second least favourite off Hunky Dory. |

It's actually the tasty HILL, which I assume is refering to teh tit. I just found out that Black Francis studied Spanish in Puerto Rico...an island ("songs from the shore") which isn't really...a state...ok, my theory died. |

I come up with some weird-ass song Interpretations but this has to beo ne of the weirdest... I think that the Aces represent girls, Jacks represent guys, and Queens represent gay guys. I've always thought that the "queens" want to be with the "jacks" but they never get a shot, as opposed to "aces"who practically have them wrapped around their finger. I derived this from reading the lyrics and drinking 3 Frappuccinos... |

The racism and all having the same colour of blood sounds good. I've been trying to make sense of this song ever since I heard it. "hanging from a tree, unaccustomed to such violence, Jesus looking down on me, I'm prepared for one big silence" - A lynch victim seeing others being killed and thinking he's about to die himself "How'd I ever end up here Must be through some lack of kindness" - This makes me think it's from a child's point of view and they think they did something to deserve this. While I was liking this theory, I just wondered...why would they cut him free? Did they used to hang them and then take them down just to torture without killing them? And if so, why is he with a doctor? Speculation... |

| AFI – Girl's Not Grey Lyrics | 22 years ago |

It kinda makes me think that he has just decided to not care about all of his problems, decided to make himself oblivious to them. "all erased" "i'll lay me down tonight, much further down" i'll forget about this, a lot more than usual you can sort of twist a lot of these lyrics into that theme..."girl's not grey"...'not sad anymore'? i'm pretty much sure i'm wrong, but thats what it makes me feel like. just adding a new interpretation. |

| Nine Inch Nails – La Mer Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| i love the way you can hear part of "into the void" at the end. :) | |
| Nine Inch Nails – Closer Lyrics | 22 years ago |
|
obviously, this song can mean dozens of different things, what i think it could mean when he says "you get me closer to god" is that the sex is so good, so powerful, that it gets even HIM closer to god...i don't think there can be a interpretation TOO simple for this song however, i dont think its the way trent would do things. just an opinion.. |

| Nine Inch Nails – We're in This Together Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| i see this as a sweet song, but not TOO sweet to the point where you get in a diabetic coma..just...perfect | |
| Crossbreed – Machines Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| this song reminds me alot of a friend i know, and i also think its about contemplating suicide...she talks about this all the tyme, but i hope she doesnt mean it. and i think the "return to burn the fucking world" part is kinda saying that the person wants to kill themselves to make other people feel sorry for what they might've done to them. | |
