Our Lady Peace – Do You Like It? Lyrics

I gotta go against you on this RebeccaSaxon. While this CD definitely sounds different than Spiritual Machines, their albums NEVER sound the same. That's what makes OLP the best band around, in my opinion. Not my favorite, that's Weezer, but the most creative and most talented. They've made 5 albums in the last 6 years, all of which have been quite incredible, and all of which while still having the same overall, identifiable sounds and tendencies, have sounded pretty different from one another. They never get any better or worse, but they continue to grow. |

Ultimate Fakebook – A Million Hearts Lyrics

yes, they really are great. I'd noticed that people had been getting this wrong, too. Kinda odd because Kenny from TSL sounds nothing like the singer from UFB and the song doesn't really sound like a TSL song either. |

Something Corporate – Drunk Girl Lyrics

I'm so sorry to ruin the nice little vibe, and I do identify with this song, but reading that last comment, I just can't stop wanting it to say "dude, you're gettin a dell!" instead of "dude. you're drunk". |

good call Cleo, I'd never noticed the reference before, despite actually LOVING the book and movie. Some of King's best work, if you ask me. |

Green Day – Redundant Lyrics

I think more than that, he's trying to find a way to apologize to her, and it's gotten to the point where he can't just "I love you" his way out of it anymore. He doesn't know how else to defend whatever it is she's mad about, but their love is old enough that "I love you" isn't powerful anymore. |

Does anyone else notice how reminiscent the lo-fi guitar intro is to Weezer's "My Name is Jonas?" |

Green Day – Waiting Lyrics

for me, it's about this moment, right now, in my life. I graduated from High School two days ago, and I have no idea what awaits me in the future. Even as far as that I am moving from Uptown Manhattan downtown to go to NYU next year, so the downtown lights will be shining on me. I've waited all this time for this moment, right here, and now I just have to wake up. |

Finch – Ender Lyrics

this is just such an amazing, beautiful song, and I especially like that Nate refers back to Stay With Me with the line "there you are asleep against the window pane just like always" and Letters To You with "where do you run to so far away?" It really brings a perfect close to the album, tying in two of the more memorable songs directly, and keeping the feel of the others alive. |

Finch – Three Simple Words Lyrics
|
To me, this song is obvious...Nate said "I love you"(the three simple words) to a girl for the first time, and she didn't say it back. For anyone who's ever been through that, it is a tragic loss of innocence. He also says it feels like she's left him there alone, and other such things. He then goes into his homocidal fantasy, choking her, and telling her to give him one good reason to let her live. I actually joined just to write about this song, because it is so about my life. |
