I've read all the meanings you guys have put up and most people agree that yeah, it's about "his" (not neccessarily Rivers himself...) liking another girl and having conflict with perhaps her younger age & how he knows he's not supposed to be in love with her. I just wanted to share one line that I really love from the song though. Rivers gives a bunch of "contradicting"/conflict sort of lyrics...like: "First, there's rules about old goats like me Hangin' 'round with chicks like you -but i do like you-" ...but my fave is this one: "and I do like you - you're the lucky one No! I'm the lucky one" He's saying that "wow you're lucky to have me as an admirer" but he realizes that he's the one lucky to get to know and to have such strong feelings on such a great person. I love this song :-) |
