i think in alot of ways this song is about how we can escape politics and alot of what makes the bad come out of us. It used to be one could flee to Canada for protection but it also talks alot about, in metaphor mind you, how the united states has taken over us ( Canada ) with it's power and politics. The line is the border... they are action, we are apathy. There's alot more but you can figure it out. |

i actually watched an interview with thursday on music4autobahns.com and this song is meant to symbolize the actual cycle of life... as the cd is titled *full collapse*. the world for each and every one of us starts exactly where it ends... in some weird place of non-existance to an otherwise unknowing world. Our cycle is known as the full collapse... and as an added bonus.. if you keep the CD on repeat in your player the disc will actually continue in an infinite set of cycles that continuously tell the same story... it's different than any other CD... you must try it a few times then eventually you'll start to pick up on it... thursday are definately musical geniuses

i'll comment. it's a really good song. a song i would place in the ranks on my prairie cruising collection. i love the bass in this song too. but the lyrics are also gold and actually somehwta powerful and heartfelt. this is definately about the resentment this guy feels towards the way guys treated his love interest in the past... and the way she is because of it. quite beautiful.... and the lead singer has a pretty nice voice. |

i think she refers to using *both hands* in the way that they tried so hard. as though using two hands signifies hard work. for some reason this relationship is falling apart. regardless of how much they would like to love eachother something's in the way. the problem is that neither know what it is or possibly the man in the relationship does but he is not attempting to fix it. it's definately a cool song. full of raw expression. just the way i like em'. |
