| Poison the Well – Torn Lyrics | 23 years ago |
This song is great. It doesnt describe me but describes one of my dearest friends. I feel for her a lot and this song always reminds me of her. |
| Poison the Well – Parks And What You Meant To Me Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Love this song. Both CDs are great, I like TFTR just a bit better though because I think it shows a lot more diversity in musical talent. Waiting too long for someone is never good, especially when it all blows up in your face and you're once again left with nothing but the feeling of wasted time. |
| Poison the Well – Sticks And Stones Never Made Sense Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Haha, harsh indeed. Fuckin skanks, why don't they ever let us know the way they are before they get you all involved? | |
| Poison the Well – Horns And Tails Lyrics | 23 years ago |
oh yah, and the part after that is "miles away, but you still seem to be here" he never says melt away. |
| Poison the Well – Horns And Tails Lyrics | 23 years ago |
This song does kick ass. It says "fuck you!" Crank your stereo up REAL LOUD and that part that sounds like a little reak of silence, you'll actually hear him scream "FUCK YOU!" I think the reason he does this is because it's what he really wants to say but he's not too proud of it, cuz there still are alot of feelings there. So he says it but puts it low to show that. Makes sense to me. |
| Taproot – Day By Day Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I agree with you. I have a friend who's like that too. She just kinda gave up on everything and takes everything that comes day by day. Anyone that tries to help her she pushes away, just cuz its hard for her to believe that anyone really wants to help. | |
| Taproot – Dragged Down Lyrics | 23 years ago |
DAMN STRAIGHT! God damn Taproot hits home with me. I'm always thinking that I'm finally gonna get out of feeling so shitty in my life and I think things are getting better, then BAM!, she drags me right back down again, and I cry alone. |
| Taproot – Now Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I agree too. And I love this song cuz it's exactly how I feel about someone I met at a summer job that lives about 100 miles from me now. Falling in love then having to be apart sucks ass! Nothing can describe the empty feeling you get when you know someone is out there that is perfect for you and they now they're perfect for you, but you can;'t have them. Then as time drags on the reality of it all sinks in. So horrible. | |
| Taproot – Emotional Times Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Definitely love this song. Talking about how crazy, fucked up, and emotional things can get at times, but just trying to keep yourself in your right state of mind at the same time. I agree that listening to music draws on my personal experiences and most of the time when I sing along with lyrics im not really thinking exactly what they meant to the artist, but more of what they mean to me. That's what musicians want anyways, people to relate to them and they like it when they know their music is helping people out through diffucult times. |
| Thursday – Standing On The Edge Of Summer Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Love this song. Could listen to it on repeat all day long. It's got so much emotion behind it and the music matches exactly with the lyrics. Like it sounds happy in a way but at the same time some sort of a weary sound saying be careful and know exactly what you;re doing, cuz you could be for a lot of heartache. | |
| Glassjaw – Modern Love Story (Youth of Today cover) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Old GlassJAw song, hardcore sound to it. I think the lyrics define exactly what happens a lot these days wiith people in relationships. They too often overlook the person to whom the body belongs. | |
| Glassjaw – Trailer Park Jesus Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Haven't heard this song yet but can't wait to hear it. I'm not gonna dl it either, gonna wait to go out and buy it like everyone else should. Support these guys if you all love em as much as you say you do, which I know you do. | |
| Glassjaw – Babe Lyrics | 23 years ago |
This is a short but good song. Definite hardcore influences in this song. About getting screwed over, I think, and how it messes you up. |
| Glassjaw – Midwestern Stylings Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Love the authentic sound this track has to offer. Nice piano tune and drum beat and of course Daryl makes the whole track happen with his singing. "You're my new amuse" should be "You're my new muse" References to his sickness in this song. Know that he really hates the "standard procedures" that he probably had to endure while being in the hospital. |
| Glassjaw – Tip Your Bartender Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This song is awesome. When I saw GlassJAw recently I was just expecting them to play the intro to this song like the reviews were saying. I was blown away when they played the whole thing right off the bat. Best damn way to start the show. I love his singing in this song. | |
| Glassjaw – Star Above My Bed (Call of the Tiger Woman) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
This is a tight ass song. One of GlassJAw's best unreleased song. Correction: "Someone's trudging closer, in the flow of what is well. As it hurts the heart I'm more convinced and you can bet I'm scared as hell. " Should be: "Summer's trudging closer, And the flow of white as well, It's the heart of nuclear winter, And you can bet I'm scared as hell." Gotta love the guitar riff in this song. |
| Glassjaw – Radio Cambodia Lyrics | 23 years ago |
This song does definitely have some religious war influence in it and post 9/11 messages. It also describes how he is scared as to what the future will be bringing. "Summer’s trudging closer, and a flurry of white as well It’s the heart of nuclear winter and I’m scared as hell." Talking of how our world may on the brink of it's own destruction. I believe that too, just don't think that I'll see it in my lifetime. |
| Glassjaw – Motel of the White Locust Lyrics | 23 years ago |
It's not to be taken literally. Just a symbol as to how much pain he feels and how fucked up it made him. Daryl has denied ever beating a girl and condones it. There are those times when they act so stupid that the thought crosses your mind, at least to make yourself feel better, but you know never to act out on it. |
| Glassjaw – Cosmopolitan Bloodloss Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Damn, this song is tight. I had the demo versio and I thought it was all right, nothing too special. But the version they have in the video is badass. The video is simple... the guy and girl get wakened up when the music starts and the guy sets out to stop the "disturbing" music from being played. Guess it has something to do with the songs meaning which I think is about how the world can just be so impassionate and nonunderstanding. BTW, I heard that the video is an edited one and the one that is going to be on the enhanced CD when the CD is first released is a bit different. Appearantly, they guy kills each member at the end. Hmm, that should be interesting. |
| Glassjaw – Secret Song Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Yah, he does say that he's a virgin. He doesnt have real hard physical desires that many people have, such as drugs and sex. And trust me, just being a virgin doesn't mean that you can't have any emotional pains... especially when the person who you gave all of your heart to goes out and becomes a whore with other people. That just ain't cool at all. | |
| Glassjaw – Siberian Kiss Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Warrenwheel: LIVE? I don't think there's any band out there that plays a better live show than GlassJAw. They go absolutely ape shit, along with the crowd, when they play their songs because of the true feelings and emotion that they put into them. And their newer slower songs are great to watch them perform too because you can just see how into the music they all are. Daryl has to be the best front man in any band. It's hard to pay attention to the whole band while they play because Daryl steals the show most of the time with his singing style and antics... absolutely amazing. Expect him to switch up the lyrics in some songs too... he seems to do that a bit, to either some other lyrics of his or words form another song. LoL, he threw in some R Kelly lyrics ("I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky") into one of their songs just recently when I saw them. You won't be dissapointed. |
| Glassjaw – Ape Dos Mil Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Yah, all you guys dissing GlasJAw's new album need to to fucking wake up and listen to the music. Yah, it's definitely different, in some respects, but if you know GlassJAw and what they're all about you can grow to love these songs. I havent heard them all yet but the ones I have (which haven't even been mastered yet) are fucking awesome. GlassJAw has definitely matured with the time that has passed by since they made EYEWTKAS, they were all around 19 when they made that. Bands that keep trying to diss out the same ol' material are only in it for material gain that they can get. GlassJAw should be commended for letting their music gorw along with them. GO BUY "WORSHIP AND TRIBUTE" JULY 9th! The first releasals of this CD are going to be enhanced with 3 videos on them so get out there and get it, don't wanna miss out on that. |
| Onesidezero – Never Ending Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This song is badass. It perfectly describes how lonely life can be to me at times and how it just seems like it is neverending. But at the same time, I know deep down in my heart that she will be back, another time. | |
| Onesidezero – Instead Laugh Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Love this song. Great amount of feelings behind their music. They do kick ass live, I saw them headlining back in March at the Roxy (L.A.). MaTT, you won't be dissapointed. | |
| From Autumn to Ashes – Short Stories With Tragic Endings Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Great song. This song breaks my heart every time I hear it. I believe that the lyrics have a problem though "So much it's like choking down the embers of a great *blaze*." |
| Glassjaw – Grasper Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Not sure if i got all the lyrics right but this is a great song. B-side off of Worship and Tribute, meaning it didn't make the cut. Like his singing in this song although it can be described as whiny. We all whine sometimes though, don't we? |
| Glassjaw – When One Eight Becomes Two Zeros Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Definitely one of the most emotional songs on the album. This song does tap into the whole sense of confusion and pain of losing the person who makes you feel whole. Best line of this song: "I hope you enjoy dying alone." |
| Glassjaw – Siberian Kiss Lyrics | 23 years ago |
This is one of the best songs GlassJAw ever did. Shows his anger and pain that he went through. I love the line: "A hiccup in paradise" Daryl felt like he was the hiccup in the relationship that seemed like paradise with this girl. Also: "On phone lines, and letterheads I'm dying about, I'm dying about" Talking about how hes dying to call her or write her. I know how that feels when every single day that passes when you don't even talk to someone seems like an eternity and you're just dying to talk to them somehow but know you shouldn't |
| Glassjaw – Ry Ry's Song Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This is a great song. About how one of their friends got played by some chick. Girls are evil. | |
| Glassjaw – Pretty Lush Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Awesome song. Shows the anger and sincereity in Daryl. Sadly enough, this song is brutally honest, you can lead a whore to water and you can bet that she'll drink and follow orders :*( . One of my favorite parts in this album comes in this song at 2:31. Daryl is so frustrated that he did all he could to try to keep this girl and all she could do was "scream at the drain." Implying that she was always drunk and puking in the shower. At 2:31 you know that he wants to call her a name (I would bet nothing nice either) but he holds back "YOU F-- ugh!" because it's just so damn hard him. I know how he feels. Daryl you're the man. |
| Glassjaw – Piano Lyrics | 23 years ago |
This song is about big bands and being popular. LIttle bit of Bad Brains can be found in the lyrics. This song musically is awesome. Most people find it hard to start listening to GlassJAw because they get scared away by the pure emotion and anger in the music. This is usually the song that I can catch people with and begin the GlassJAw movement in them. |
| Glassjaw – Must've Run All Day Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| God damn this song rules. Total switch around from the GlassJAw of the old days but the boys have matured, what can you expect? Music is supposed to be true to the people who make it and I'm sure that they've lost a little of fire that was in them as they have matured over time. The music is still fuckin great however. | |
| Glassjaw – Midwestern Stylings Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Great song, too bad it didn't make the cut for the album. I believe that instead of "I'm amused and I am your new muse" it's "I'm of no use and I am you new muse" The ols acoustic version of this song kicks ass too. I believe this song is about his sickness and how he feels towards it. How its his "handicap". |
| Glassjaw – Majour Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Yet another great song by GlassJAw. I can relate because I hate the fact that a certain girl can't get over an asshole of a guy for the fact that he devirginized her and she can't see that she means nothing to him. Immature Love You breed immature lust So died the virgin I have told you before You were nothing special to him But thats nothing new for, nothing new for you! Daryl's a genius. |
| Glassjaw – Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| Favorite song on the album. Highly emotional song. If you know what Daryl had to go through with his disease, and listen ot this song and every word he sings, there is no doubt that you will at least get a tear in your eye. True music at it's best, pulling the emotion out of it's listner, no one likes to be alone, and if you are listen to this song. I'm sure you can find a way to relate. Daryl is the man. | |
| Glassjaw – Lovebites And Razorlines Lyrics | 23 years ago |
Damn good song. Shows how he feels towards the girl that screwed him over but also shows that he doesn't understand why he gets so angry. "Looking back into my diary, what makes me say these things?" I love how this song switches from angry chaotic music to reflective melodic music in a heartbeat. Something only GlassJAw cam pull off. |
| Glassjaw – Hurting and Shoving (She Should Have Let Me Sleep) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
This is a great song. Definite influence of their hardcore past in this song. The verse that starts out "(I'll hold) My child's head under water..." is very deep, talking about drowning his own daughter (he doesn't reall have one), metaphorically, of course, just because of how much the woman in his life has hurt him and to show his spite towards women. |
| Glassjaw – Her Middle Name Was Boom Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This song is one of my favorites off this album. The only positively driven song on the album about a friend that was very dear to Daryl. Daryl is the man, and noone can sing like he can. | |
| Glassjaw – Secret Song Lyrics | 23 years ago |
This song is amazing. After being battered and bruised with 12 crazy tracks of music and showing his pain and anguish set forth by this girl who did him totally wrong, he comes back with this beatifully played song (Daryl plays the piano in this song by the way) telling of how he really loves her and always will and how much that is killing him. BTW Daryl is straightedge, he has Crohn's disease and therefore has much respect for his body and what he does to it, plus the fact that he is on medication and takes anough "drugs" as it is. |
| Glassjaw – Ape Dos Mil Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This is a danm good song. I think it's about how hard life can get because of relationships and one girl in specific in his case. Understanding why it has to be as it is is sometimes the hardest thing. Worship and Tribute out July 9th, go buy it! | |
