Some of you indignant cranky pantses are funny. These lyrics were posted way before the box set came out, and are for a live version of the song when it was still circulating under the names "On the Mountain," "You've Got No Right," and "You Know You're Right." I figured all big Nirvana fans would have the live version in question to reference in their collections. If not, don't get your panties in a twist at me, it's not my fault you suck at the internet. :) Yes, the lyrics to the mastered studio track are obviously completely different, but no such version was available to us when I posted *these* lyrics. |

Ohhh smashingrocker666. Kindly refrain from making stupid comments before being fully informed. These lyrics were posted before You Know You're Right was released (or even leaked for that matter), and as Stuckinutero and _4xeno mentioned, they're from the live version, which I personally love waaay more than the studio version. Jesus, no need to get your panties in a twist. Try knowing what you're talking about before being a prick. |

| Stone Temple Pilots – Sour Girl Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This song is about Janina, his first wife, and their breakup, if I remember correctly from interviews I've seen with the band around the time of the song's release. | |

| If you read the lyrics to Courtney's cover of it, it sounds like a comeback to his. And a vicious one, at that. | |

Lyrics for the Nirvana version *have* surfaced, although their accuracy is uncertain. I think they match the song pretty well: I don't need to love again I won't sigh and mope again I don't need to love again I just don't think it's worth it I don't really love her I don't think I want her Ain't gonna take to love again It's the way your love hurts It's the way you're mad again I don't think I'll love again I won't ever promise her I don't think I want her This time no one else I don't bear to follow you I don't ever promise you Sometimes I don't love you Think I'm tired of loving her I don't really want love Hey, hey, hey, hey You know you're right You told me to follow him Teach him that I loved him I won't ever promise you I won't even bother to You gave me my first kiss I don't think I want it now I don't ever want again It's all that I had to have It's all that I wanted It's all that I had to I don't think I'll miss her I don't think I want her I personally think the lyrics are directed towards Courtney. That would be a good explanation as to why she altered them for her cover of the song. To me, the two versions in comparison to one another sound like an argument between the two. But, I'm forming that opinion with other general Nirvana knowledge and personal opinions on Kurt's death. |
