| ok, this is SO not anti soco, but just a thought to entertain, my friend and I decided even if its not what its about it makes sense... and also keep in mind, do you ever wonder if a band will write, or tweak, a song to kinda have fun wiht the audience? I dont think this is really what its abotu or anything, but its still a little interesting... okay... abotu a small penis or perhaps an inability to get or keep "it up" " I fall, i dont wanna feel this small", and, "i let my heartbeat drop, i falter as the music stops, and you watch me as i stall, and wonder when i fall" AND " still im perfect, it must be you cuz now its over" "i was so close that was the most that i have ever been through" aaanddd " how can uyou ask for me to stay when all you ever do is go" ( we also wondered if... she kept him waiting too long? jason biggs style? | ok WOW after reading all of those... I'm going to start off with my proclaimation of everloving faith to something corporate. If you ever catch me saying something bad about them, get help... alright, with that taken care of, NFG808, props to your observation, in concert they dont seem to like konstantine... I mean, they must be sick of the konstant "KONSTANTINE" chants from all the girls throwing their bras at them... I mean, in the beginning (PRE-walking by) it was touted as the ballad of ballads, which i agree with, (PRE-WALKING BY) butit was given such a reputation, underground though it may be, that if you want to LOVE sc, you HAVE to love konstantine when, especially looking at the konstantine page on this site, it doesnt seem like many people even ATTEMPT to get it, throwing away popular belief, throwing away the "emo" answer of "it just is." throwing away the chants from the frazzled girls in heat, konstantine is wonderful, but for me, it will never be Walking By. I saw these guys play at HOB in chicago. It was the most amazing experience of my life, and will remain to be until i have a heart to heart conversation with andrew, with a dual respect, and i dont see that happening anytime soon. Anyway, a lot of people say they cant listen to this song without crying, and that one kid who was like "crying isnt talent" makes me want to smack him. I dont cry durring songs because theyre songs, i cry from my emotions at the time, but this song is different, I don't know what it is, it's not hte lyrics, something about the music that makes this song pump your soul of the impurities and pain that you've harnessed for so long, every time, thats how it is for me at least. At the HOB show ( for whoever knows what a HOB venue is like, tis is more hard hitting...) on the slowest parts ( i remember specifically "and these nights") I just looked up at the ceiling and cried. Yeah, boohoo, crying in the dark, *emo* right? I can't explain it, you had to be there (and might have been!) but I just looked straight up, silently cried, while I was wedged between hundreds of hardcore soco fans in a sweaty room with fancy lights in the middle of downtown chicago, where someone was being mugged a block away, someone was having sex a block away, someone was breaking up a block away, someone was breaking down a block away, someone was watching an off broadway musical, a porno flick, a cartoon and an art film a block away, and I'm listening to this song, to my life, to everyone's life. I stopped singing along, and started to understand. That's the only way I can share teh experience. I apoligize for the sad attempt, but I'm no andrew myself. I've fear in my smile. | |

| people who say andrew is "hatttt" make me sad... :( respeeect (yes, beautifuly complex, perfect and imperfect, the everything, and "hot" even, but don't say "hatttt" thats reserved for people like..... enrique whatshisface if you please and other such "pop stars") ANYWAY, my nirvana obsessed friend ( I'm not a fan...) is CONVINCED that this song is about kurt... if anyone would liek to... comment on that, feel free, PERSONALLY I think this song shows Somethign Corporate's flexibility, they can successfully convey almost any message they want to with a more piercing truth than any of us thought possible. They can sing about lost love, not wanting responsibility, getting up when you're down, hating a highschool sweetheart, or, in this case, human frailties. Our achillies heel if you will. Andrew (and the rest of the band to some extent) brilliant? yes, beautiful? yes, "hattt"? :( (though im sure the intentions were good) :) | |

| word to the chick (im assuming...) who said josh is talented. poor guy doesnt get enough credit because hes not like... cute... at all... btu when i met them (more or less) josh was REALLY nice too.. i mean, cmon, josh WROTE this song... its fuckin awesome, and he does all the guitar solos, at least all that ive seen... william cant go though, he's beautiful. no, i take that back, hes too one dimentional to be beautiful, andrew is beautiful, will is... pretty :) and I'm OFFICIALLY sicked otu that i wrote things like that on this awesome music site but... i coudnt resist | |
