| I think there are some hints of Chernobyl in this song. It's not an untouched subject by Morrissey, or the Smtih's. The song Panic was about the response to the Chernobyl nuclear explosion. I could be completely off track, I mean Chernobyl wasn't a seaside town. But some other things do fit. | |

I didn't have time to read through all of the comments to see if what I am going to say has already been said. There are a lot of ideas of what the song is about and what makes a great song is that each person walks away with their own idea of what it means. When I see this video I see it saying many things. The first thing I saw it saying was the story of someone who's holding in the pain of abuse. The second I saw was someone who has to live day to day with some sort of mental illness, example: bipolar disorder. And third I also saw it speaking from the point of view of a cutter or self injurer. Whatever it's about the lyrics are beyond powerful and make you step back and evalutate! |

| Greensky if I'm not mistaken this song came out in late 1995 or early 1996. I remember it like it was yesterday when this song was popular after it first came out. I always think of one of my more dangerous relationships when I think of this song cause i was dating the guy when this song came out. In the end we both attempted suicide fortunately we weren't successful. Great song with much dept and there hasn't been much music since that can touch people like this one. | |
