i figure it could mean 2 things, either a) it's literal, about a person who got into a car accident, or b) it's about a friend who wanted to get into the real world. they didn't want to wait until they were ready, they just wanted to go out and do it. they ran away from their family, and then they failed, and ended up ruining their life, or something close to it. but that's just a guess |

It's all about this guy being in love with a girl and then murdering her. "I slowly shoot these words like weapons/and go insane" He gets upset with her, and takes it out through verbal abuse and then gets mad at himself. "I watch you drive your stupid car/you go away" She's getting away from him, driving off. "You never were one to use caution" She's not a careful person and keeps getting him upset. "You know i'd love to see it happen" He's strangely attracted to the way she makes him angry. "Happy death day to you now baby/i know you're flying in the blue now/we'll be together real soon now baby don't ya worry/papa's got a brand new body bag for you" She's dead and he's celebrating the day she died, like a birthday. He says he's going to join her too. And the "brand new body bag" is a play on words of that 'papa's got a brand new bag' saying from way back when. "Cable cars run through my mind/reminiscent bay" He's just remembering times together. "I always tried to keep you near me/without the pain" he was kinda obsessed with her, and had a problem with separation anxiety, he was afraid for her to be away from him. "I love to tie us into knots/we slipped away" He tried to get her attached to him, so she would never leave, but he failed. "I tried to captivate you on that evening he was leaving" She was going to leave with another guy, so the singer tried to captivate her and make her stay. "With the girl, i love to kill" Because she didn't want to stay, he killed her, so she could never leave him. That's pretty much it. A cool song, but kind of disturbing, especially in comparison to the tamer songs on the album. aaf's cool, though i hear they're jerks in person. All the bands hated them at Warped Tour. |

The song's all about how Matt is the frontman of this band. "He's the man/he's got a plan" refers to the fact that he leads the band and controls it. He makes the decisions. "Matt's the man/with a purple crayon" refers to his abstract way of drawing the world around him, with a purple crayone, rather than a pen, or pencil. "He'll take out dan/with a frying pan" means he'll take out whoever's in his way. In an interview with the crowd's guitarist, it was said that Dan was their ex-manager, and when he had too much control, Matt dropped him. "Don't go in that darkened basement" has to do with the fact that matt is paranoid. he's somewhat crazy. "There's monsters in that darkened basement" speaks of his inner demons. "They'll eat you alive" means when matt gets crazy, he'll do anything, maybe kill. "He's got a band/'Cause he's better than Stan" is a reference to his boyhood rivalry with a classmate, Stan. Stan was always doing things better than Matt, and finally when Matt got his band going and they got popular, he won their competition type thing. "Does anybody have a lozenge? lozenge?" is because he screams out this song and it hurts his throat. The rest of it just repeats. |

i've got a crazy idea. maybe it's about being quarantined... 'warden and judge behind masks' being the gov't deciding to put the person who has been infected by contagious disease in a private camp or whatever. 'small rationing' limited food rations ie bad conditions in the camp. 'break the weak/in single file' is taking those weakened by the disease and imprisoning them. 'sanction this outbreak/a virus conspires' stopping the virus as it strengthens. 'push becomes shove' forcing people into the camp. 'days become months/and i seem to have forgotten the warmth of the sun' being the time in camp stretches on. 'feeding frenzy it's contagious/have trigger will travel' virus has the ability to spread (travel) easily if left unchecked. 'sentinels found/binoculars watch cardboard towns' guarding the camp (cardboard towns aka a fake city.) 'strung up in webs/the net was flung/over the auditorium' capturing those diseased in public. 'slave trade the weak/no call to arms' control these people as you want, no need to worry, they aren't a threat. 'single sparks are spectral fires' a single victim can infect an entire race. but that's just my opinion... |
