im partial to old dashboard stuff due to the recent popularity and mainstream play, but i will say that i "appreciate" the way this song is played on the summers ep. its just different. the harmonies are nice, and the slowness is cool, but i cant help but be biased to the version on swiss army. |

you cant really say that chris does this better than rivers, even if you think it maybe sounds better, cause think of the theory behind it. to put it into perspective, lets say you absolutely love this one new-ish band (not dashboard) and on a tribute to dashboard, your favorite band plays a dash song. wow, its great, right? but its not chris carrabba singing his own song with his own emotions, so its simply just a cover. the same goes here. now, i love dc more than any band, but im a big weezer fan as well and i can say that as well as chris might do this song, it will always first be a weezer song and therefore will always be done best when played by rivers. |

3) summer's kiss is good, but you really have to love it originally first, from swiss army.
i won't get into the whole popularity of dashboard thing. i think its kind of over-talked about. i can say this because i am a fan since fsf; not that it justifies anything, but i totally agree with what everyones saying but i kind of think we have to take a breath. remember to breathe guys. |
