| The Old 97s – Weightless Lyrics
|
my version has a verse that says:
almost exactly like this place
where you and i are fighting, yeah
i'm so sick and tired of fighting, yeah
up there we'll never fight at all
in place of the stormy weather verse.
and i'm almost sure he says 'up there we'll never fight at all' at the end, not 'find it all.'
anyways, great song. no need to explain the meaning. |

| Grade – In Ashes We Lie Lyrics

man, i put this cd in tonite. just for old time's sake...
i was listening to this song in particular, and i thought to myself, "man, what is he _talking_ about anyway?!"
so i come to check and only two people have commented on this song.
but here's the best part...
one of them is me, and i'm totally acting like a stupid 17 year old. arg, i hate it when people type crap like those two comments.
... or this comment.
someone, anyone ... what does this song mean to YOU? |

| Twothirtyeight – Coin-Laundry Loser Lyrics
| 20 years ago
|
apparently none of you know what it's like to live on your own.
this song is about me, really. i have an art degree (well almost, haven't _quite_ graduated) and i'm still working at a laundromat. "i'm a coin laundry loser"
he's the car alarm in his crappy car. he's saying that he is his job and his car.
"keep the love ones posted" ... when you move out you dont see your parents every day. you have to keep 'em posted cuz you never know when you'll need them bail you out.
"so tired you could sleep with the light on, stereo blasting in your ear." yeah, i've had those nites. apparently he has to.
"you know you're tired when your senses fail" when you dont even care about the light/noise.
this song is basically about being a college graduate stuck in the middle class. not having any money. having a crappy car. wearing yourself out. etc.
and i also saw them with coheed & juliana theory... too bad i didn't know who they were when i saw them. =[ i just wanted them to hurry up so i could see co&ca. sad. |

| 8th Wave – You're Invited Lyrics

|
probably 8th wave's best song, but i still hate them. =P
"i dont wanna know where you go, or the people you have known."
- 8th wave.
"i cant imagine all the people that you know, or the places that you go, when the lights are turned down low."
- something corporate.
just thought i'd point it out. |

yeah, the reformed under the fire theft... not as good as sunny day real estate, but still 100x better than any other band out there. i saw them. jeremy was AMAZING, his voice echoed through the venue like you couldnt believe.
jeremy, the lead singer, started a solo project between sdre and tft... its called 'return of the frog queen', you might want to check it out. |

you have to d/l it... and yes, thursday supports the downloading and burning of their music. [especially waiting] they make music to be heard, not to make money. ... but yeah, that cd is discontinued, so d/l it... or specially order it somewhere. |

You always were the one to make us stand out in a crowd
Though every once upon a while, you're head was in the clouds
Theres nothing you could never do to ever let me down
And remember that I'll always love you
wow. that reminds me of my ex more than you can even comprehend. i must d/l this song. |

i love the background singer / screamer guy. at the end of the song he is almost crying. so intense. so energetic. AHH!!! it makes me want to run around or scream or something.
oh... on that note. i was watching this little kid named nate... he's like 7 years old. i let him listen to this song, and he started crying. it was amazing! i was like "heh, you crying there?" and he's syas "n.. no." and wipes his eyes. the song made him cry. crazy stuff. |
