I think he is describing what it is for someone different to be out in the world. Saying that he is opposite of other people "awake while everyone else sleeps". This is my favorite AFI song from their older days. |

It is obvious that he is describing a winter scene. Perhaps as an analogy. Davey doesn't really like to tell people what it meant to him because he doesnt want to crush their opinion. This happened to him and the Cure. This song is very well composed and jade proves once again what you can do with those Days of the Pheonix chords ;) |
