yes, i agree, most of the songs on the art of drowning are by davey, but there are quite a few songs that jade wrote too, i jus hate how davey is the ONLY one in the band that gets any of the credit. Davey wouldnt be where he is now if it weren't for jade, hunter, and adam. im not bashing on the others, im jus sayin they seem like a davey groupy. |

i think that your all right with it being a song about love, and a song about God. maybe its a song about loving God and how much he's given to us in life. maybe he's saying he wont take life for granted because now he knows God and feels alive!! hence forth all the lyrics..... and for kT, lyrics mean alot in a song. thats why i love AFI, the lyrics are so deep. A song could sound crappy and i would still like it cuz the lyrics might touch my heart. In order for me to like a song I need to be able to relate to it. |

Um, i really dont think this song has ne meaning, but its a fucking awesome song. Its my first anti-flag song i heard. I love the part that goes "if you guys think America's so bad, why dont you move to Russia!" cuz it totally contradicts eachother cuz america and russia are so much alike, and ppl that hate america would jus hate russia too! if you honestly hate america, move to canada, for sure..... I love this song and how fucking hilarious it is!!! I agree with INyearsTOcome, I absolutely hate the jocks that dont even get this song, but listen to it to be "cool". Thats the only thing thats starting to suck about afi, they are getting a lil too popular, kinda like what happened to The Offspring. But oh well, thats jus my opinion. |

I love AFI, davey is a lyrical genius and his voice is beautiful. But I must say, w/out the rest of the band i dont think he would be as far as he is. Very true allstar, this is NOT an afi song, its misfits, and i dont believe afi EVER did a cover, but I could possibly be wrong, I'll hafta look that up. |

I hate this song, the beat and tune is aweful, but the lyrics are wonderful. It reminds me alot of a book I just read "Go Ask Alice," If any of you have read it, it reminds me of the girl the whole book is about, and her friend too. Anyways, I kind of relate to this song I guess. |

I dont agree with any of you at all. I mean, I understand how most of those meanings have to do w/ the lyrics yes, and I like the whole Jesus one, I've never looked at it that way. But I think that it's definately about somebody dying. Maybe a step father or something, somebody that he wasnt very close too, but he still knew him very well. And thats why his mother is crying.
