is she pop? yes. is she bubblegum? no. is she good? no. is she better than 95% of the other pop acts out there? yes. is she fun to listen to? sure. is she someone whos album i'll buy? no. is it annoying to see every single girl from 12-15 dressed like her? yes. music is music. personally, id much reather have avril rockin' the covers of every teen mag in the universe for years to come than anyone else in the pop industry. shes a fun little escape. something to shove on a summertime mix-cd you wont listen to ever again after a month. dont rag on her for trying to shove something differnt down the throats of little girls. at least shes not perpetuating a false sterotype of women as is britney. and on the subject of punk, i was hardcore punk-jerk for the longest time, and over the last year or two, ive gone back and realized that everything that isnt labeled 'pop-punk' is really really cheesy, and terrible. hate to break it to you all, but the pistols fucking sucked. sure, they were new and all, but they were absolutle terrible musicians. does that mean they sucked at what they did? not at all. they were impeccable preformers and the like, but musicians? never. ragging on the pop world for not being good musicians is futile. if something is popular, no matter what, something good went into it. be it the technitians enhancing the sound, the producers making everything polishes and catchy, or the writers making something they know will sell, theres always a hint of talent somewhere. avril is no different. blarg. and just to fit in with everyone else here: I LIKE MUSIC YOU DONT AND THEREFORE I AM BETTER THAN YOU!@!! YUO AER ALL TEH FCKUCING POSRE!@! oh, and ps - harvey danger is better than everyone. |

AHHHH!@! she sounds like old alanis morrisette, 'cept replace really really angy with silly teenage angst and spelling errors. i still find it kind of funnily cool that she thanked muchmusic on the mtv video awards. i laughed. ive seen her butt crack. |
