I heard it was about his break up with CSNY. And all their problems with drugs and how neil couldn't take it anymore. Drugs ruined the band and i think this is neil reflecting on that. |

i think the phrase, "I traced away the fog to see the Mississippi on her knees" is kind of a metaphor for conquering the country. The Mississippi has always been kind of a backbone for the country, you know all the names... the Mighty Mississip and such. to see it on it's metaphorical knees is like saying he's seen the world and won. nothing can stop him now. not even the mighty mississippi |

When i first heard this song it hadn't been played on the radio yet. It stuck out like a sore thumb from the rest of horrorscope. I loved it, and i wished they'd play it on the radio, then they started playing it on the radio and i wished they hadn't. this song got into the hands of trl fans on mtv and it was slightly sad. i understand bands want to get heard and have their stuff played isn't that the point? and i dont feel eve 6 "sold out" by making this song, because its so meaningful, it's so full of passion, you can hear it in max's voice. this song is real, it's intent wasn't to sell records it was to turn feeling into music. It's not my favorite eve 6 song, but it is really good. and it seems to me that it's about a one night stand more than anything else. Eve 6 is my favorite band ever, i've been a fan since before "inside out" |

OrangeSteamboat, wouldn't it make more sense if the story took place in Lexington, England? the boy is going to Eton, and the story is decidedly British. And the Kentucky Derby is in Louisville KY not Lexington, giving Louisville more claim to fame in the race industry. you other points are all very vaild though. |

I think i'm glad i don't listen to mainstream radio... i've never heard this song on the radio around here, and there's ALWAYS music on when i'm anywhere... weird. never seen it on mtv either. guess i'm out of touch, but it sure keeps songs fresh and untainted for me. |
