i've listened to dashboard for the last few years, and only until recently did i truly grasp how incredible these lyrics are...
the brilliant dance, and the sidestepping, for me is avoiding the problems in your relationship until you come to that 'painful realization'...the realization that there's really nothing you can do to save that relationship: you've ignored those problems with the thought that if you don't acknowledge them, they don't exist, you both do, until it's too late
and by then those beautiful memories fade in the light of pain of lost love... |

i love this song, it's like everyone else has said -- it so perfectly describes that feeling you get after a relationship has ended and you still have feelings fo that person, you want to be with them, but you know that you can't have what you once did... |

it may sound stupid, but i think it's about asking why, and trying to find meaning, in something, anything. but that we can't "let it worry you, we're down here together" - we're all here on earth and no matter what questions we ask or the answers we recieve, we'll all still be here, and eventuall, "we'll find our own way" |
