i don't know if i commented on this song yet, but i have to say that i'll comment again. michelle branch is truly an artist to admire, inspire and excell in her chosen profession. this girl writes like no one else i know, she plays her guitar and she has a sweet voice to top it all off....(unlike our lovely foe on here avril lavigne--newsflash--she doesn't write her own lyrics, play guitar, skate or present her real image of her music she plays...it's not punk) not that i'm here to dis avril, she's good at what she's doing...being punk and rebellious, but who the hell wants that when u can have michelle branch? this chick is amazing and i love this song because i play it everytime i think of that one bad boy that got away and i have to say "i want you, but i'm not giving in this time" man, what a line! talent, talent, talent....'nuff said! |

it seems he's talking about a relationship that really never existed or that had to end, whether it be her or his fault and she is telling him how she now feels.......either he treated her wrong or she just can't be in relationships......i just know that i love hearing the chorus "you don't know what it's like, i feel like nothing at all, you don't know what it's like" the emotion that exudes from these lyrics, especially when heard, just relate this to how i felt after a relationship went bad w/ a guy i knew was wrong for me but i kept going back....and now "i feel insignificant, i feel nothing at all" when it comes to him. rock on econoline! one of Canada's finest, bands that is!! |

this is a good song, if you listen to it you can hear the emotion brimming from avril's voice, intentional or not. and no, she doesn't sing punk music, i love rehashing this, but hey u know what? this is some good shit. well, i think so. you don't have to think so, and that's ok. i like various types of music myself, so don't be bashing others because it's just rude and obnoxious. rock on avril! yeah we all know that Avril might act or look punk, but she doesn't sing punk. why do people have to clarify this though? she doesn't promote her music as punk does she? i don't think so at least. well commenting on this song, i absolutely love it and who hasn't felt this way about someone they got real serious with? i just can't believe she captured those feelings in words, it's too hard for me to do but she's pretty damn good at it. rock on avril! does anyone know about her childhood or growing up? at first when i heard this song i was thinking it was about a guy, because that's what the song means to me. but reading the lyrics over and over again, i feel that maybe she was a foster kid? i am not one myself, but i have read books and talked to people who've been moved around homes and had foster parents who didn't care about them much. could this possibly be the case? just putting it out there b/c i noticed that no one else really got that vibe. later!!
