The Knack – My Sharona Lyrics

Doug Fieger (the lead singer) wrote this song about a young groupie called Sharona. I also lost my virginity while listening to this song;) |

I played and sang this song to my fiancee when I asked her to marry me:) Not as good as Clapton's, but good enough for her to say yes;) |

It's about growing old with the person you love.
I went to a Travis concert just last Thursday, he dedicated it to all the women in the crowd. |

On their last 2 albums they sung in icelandic and hopelandic, which is just something Jónsi the singer made up, but on their new album they won't be singing at all, which kind of sucks:P |

Tool – Parabola Lyrics

I think this song is about the birth of a child. The pain he talks about is the pain that his wife encounters in the birth and how this is a gift (not the pain, the birth:). He is now eternal as his "legacy" will live on. He will be alive but not in the form or state he is in now, but as a part of his grandchildrens to come. He is also singing to his child, that he or she should be thankful for being alive and cherish this moment, moment of being alive and breathing. |

I don't think that the lyrics has any "deeper" meaning. It's just Maynard's answer to some punk ass kid who thinks he knows it all. |

At the Drive-In – One Armed Scissor Lyrics

I've always felt that this song is about the future, perhaps when the Earth is no more and people live in space. People are then actually living "a million miles away" from each other.
Read it with that in mind and it might make sense to you like I think it makes sense to me:) |

What the fuck more is there? Perhaps what this song means to people, not what the artist says it means to him. |

This is my favorite NIN song of all time.
He has always been treated like dirt by his girlfriend, he has now given up on the relationship and is telling us why. |

Nine Inch Nails – The Great Below Lyrics

I've always felt that the narrator is already dead and is in hell, waiting for that "she". He chose his paths in life and is fine by it, even though he is "in the great below". |

I have to agree with you on that, I think this song is about being rejected by god, Heresy is always a great song about what Trent thinks about god and christianity. |

I would guess this song would be about first sexual / romantic experience.
A great song from a great album (the very first album I bought). |

Nine Inch Nails – Hurt Lyrics
|
Slit my wrists once, almost got me killed, you should stop cutting yourself before something bad happens.
To me this song is about someone who has been hurt a great deal, he has been hurt so much that he is starting to think that he doesn't feel anything anymore, so he inflicts pain upon himself to "test" his feelings. But he hurt this person back, and the last four lines are about if he could start over again, he would find some other way. |
