| first off...even if you don't know what japanese sounds like, this is clearly NOT latin, lol. Anywho, I really like this song. If Good Charlotte can write this kind of stuff then why aren't they doing more? I'll admit I've never really listened to them at all. I downloaded this recent album on a whim just to check it out. I heard this track and was really caught off guard. This track is good, I have more respect for Good Charlotte after hearing this track. And I can't stop listening to it. I tried to figure out the romanji lyrics. Its too difficult. I also tried looking on the net, can't find the lyrics anywhere. So if anyone has the romanji lyrics, PLEASE post them. Anywho, last thing I'll say about this song, if GC can compose more songs like these then I'd like to see them do some work composing music for a movie or something. It'd be interesting. Also, in response to the first post in this disscussion. This track is in no way an embarrassment to music. | I don't think she's following a "trend". I mean I don't know. I could see myself doing a video and a song like this. I love Japan and it's culture. Not because it's a "cool" trend. I've been very interested in the japanese culture for almost a decade now. I don't know if that's the case with Gwen. Anywho, what I like most about this video is the gothic lolita style clothes. Not all of the clothes are this style. But some of them kinda are. Overall I love the costume design. It must have been super fun making this video. In a lot of ways this video reminds me of Miyuki chan in Wonderland. The anime was kinda sucky, but all the Alice and Wonderland characters in it were women just like in this video. Just something I noticed. | |

| the other reason why I think this song is about someone having power over another is when he say the line "why would you make it easier for me to satisfy." He's also asks why the person who is being controled, hurt or whatever you want to call it is letting him do it. Also if you watch his video you see clips of what looks like violent boyfriends or husbands who are abusing thier girlfriends or wives. It doesn't show physical abuse, but definately emotional abuse. There is no doubt in my mind that this song is about someone who has control over another. | |

I think this song is like a theme for all villans. Really if you think about what the lyrics are implying they are all things that have to deal with power. I feel this song is really about power over others. Because he mentions sex and rape and that is an issue of power. He also says in the line "I'm eating all your kings and queens all your sex and diamonds." Eating is just another word for consuming. He's basically saying he's consuming everything. Kings and Queens=the people that govern our lives, Sex=our enjoyment, and diamonds=our valuables. Also, in the second verse he mention other powerful things like water and time. With this I believe this song is about someone who wants to have power over someone else at the same time though that he describes a person who is out for power he also denounces them when he goes into the chourus. Also at the beginning when he introduces this power hungary person by saying "something ugly this way comes." on a side note someone on the other thread for this song mentioned that this guy sounds like darren haynes and I was going to say that when i heard this song i was thinking the exact same thing. He doesn't sound EXACTLY like darren haynes but he sure reminds me of him. |

| What I love most about this song is the guitar part. I wish I could play guitar just so I could play that part. It's absolutly beautiful. Coldplay tends to do that. Lot's of guitar solos and stuff. | It's great that you like punk so much. But if you want people to like it, you shouldn't stuff it down our throtes. I'll be honest. I personally hate punk. Well, maybe not hate. If someone could play me some punk music I could actually sing to and enjoy the music, maybe I would like it. But to me, it just sounds like noise. I don't know much about punk. So maybe I do like some bands that would qualify as punk. Probably the only one that would come close is System of a down. Mostly I like hard rock. Folk rock is cool too. I also like J-pop and J-rock. I used to listen to the Backstreet Boys all the time. But ever since I started listening to anime music, I haven't really listened to an english song in sometime. But that's not to say I think BSB sucks. Actually, I really appreciate how they are trying to grow more as a band. Whereas N*sync is still having people write their songs, while they sing and dance to them; the BSB have started to establish a differant pop style then N*sync and they have started writing more of their own songs. Not that many of them have gotten popular yet, but at least it's a start. You have to give them some credit, where credit is due. I don't think Christina A., Brittney, N*sync, O-town, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson, or any of those famous pop singers have done what the BSB is trying to do. You may just like punk. But they do deserve some credit. Also, the BSB may have been a "boy band" that was formed by some guy who wanted money. But each of the BSB were singing well before that even happened. And now, I believe, they have sued the guy who formed them so they could get another contract so they can be better band and grow into, what I think, is better then what they started out as. You may not like the BSB, but give them some credit. And please, if you don't know much about the band or it's members, then don't post stuff that is false. For example, saying they are gay. If that were true then why would two of them be married to women, and another thinking about marrige too. Also, they do play instruments. You wonder, "why don't they play them on stage then?" I say, you try playing guitar. or piano while dancing in sync with four other people. | |

| I started posting on here awhile ago. Because I felt that some of the people coming here and writing crap about the BSB was really rude. I don't care if you like them or not, you don't have to be rude about it. It's funny how when Kristen (no offense to you, I'm just making an example) said something that was ignorant and kinda rude about punk music, and all you punk fans freaked out and called her a fascist and put her in her place. Well, back at cha'! That's exactly how some of you have been acting toward all the BSB fans. "BSB sux! The BSB are ugly ass gay guys! Their music sux! Why don't you BSB fans listen to real music like BLAH BLAH BLAH where the lryics atcually have meaning!" Talk about double standards. From the very begining of this thread some have you have been incredibly rude, when you don't have to be, to express that you don't like the BSB or their songs. Kristen says one thing and all of you go nuts. Some of you should look in the mirror before you go calling names. Because it doesn't take an idiot to figure out that if you say somthing rude and ignorant that someone else is going to reply with something just as rude. In my oppinion, music is music. I don't care if I heard them on the radio or on MTV or through word of mouth. If I can get into the song then the song has accomplised what it was supposed to do. I can admit, even though I like BSB, that not all of their songs are great. And even tho' I like some pop bands, I also really enjoy hard rock, and even some of those classic 80's songs and older. I don't like rap...but if it makes someone else feel good about themselves and makes them a better person, then who am I to say rap sucks? Get the point? I hope some of you do. to JoveW, A lot of people listen to all kinds of songs. Including myself. I listen to songs for the music, beat, or just the basic feeling the song gives off, and I also listen to songs for there meaning. These are all differant reasons why I listen to music in general. And some of these reasons may be a factor in why I like a song and some of them might not. What I mean is I like the song sugar. But I don't really think about the meaning or anything. I just listen cause its got a good hard rock sound. People listen to things for differant reasons. And you shouldn't asume that people are all stupid and are going to believe everything that they hear. You also shouldn't stuff your religion down people's throtes. And if you're going to write something that's is supposed to make a point. Make sure it actually makes a point. So far everything I read from you is just a bunch of irratating rambling. |

Maybe because I sound more intelligent then you? Next time you write something...try using more of a variety in the words you choose. I get $7.70 a week working for an actual boss, not my daddy. Your dad is your boss...I wouldn't be surprised if he hired and pays you more then his other employees who aren't related to him. God you have it easy. All you do is pound on drums in a band and bad mouth the backstreet boys on the internet while your daddy gives you $70 a week plus whatever you earn from whatever job your dad has you do. And who knows what it is. I bet it's the easiest job in the world. But good for you on winning 3 battle of the bands competitions. But my high school had those...and there is a BIG differance between a high school battle of the bands compared to a community or whatever competition. But you never said which it was. And to answer your other comment. My comment as you said, WAS a question. Because if I'm thinking about the same thing you were talking about then what I said was a question. I think the meaning of yellow stands for the brightness of the girl, and how special she is. Also that the color yellow in general stands for something good. I will say that whoever sings in the Legend of Zelda songs sounds an awful like the lead singer for SOAD. He does have a very unique singing style. Short of seeing an official site of one of these bands stating they did or didn't write or sing the song, I don't think anyone has any room to argue. There's just no solid proof. | Actually some of the guys do play instruments. Kevin plays piano and Brian plays guitar. And I've heard both of them play and they are pretty good. Not everyone plays instruments. You shouldn't discriminate and judge musicians based on whether or not they play an instrunment. Singing is just as much a form of music as playing an instrument. And just because someone doesn't play an instrument, it doesn't mean they can't write good music. And just because someone plays an instrument, it doesn't mean they can write good music. And if you've watched any BSB music videos lately you would see that they aren't all about singing dance songs and dancing around in their videos. Anyways what bands DO you like? And why aren't you over there in those forums rather then acting like incompetents here? And who makes you the judge of good music? I can bet none of you are famous? | First off, everyone is entitled to what they like and don't. I don't like rap, but I sure as hell don't waste my time writing offensive comments on those boards, so why are you? Second, yes BSB did start out as a manufactured boys band. But before you go saying crap about how they don't write their own music etc. you should know that on their last album they wrote and co-wrote quite a few songs, to be honest I was surprised. And who really cares if they are not more popular then Britany or N*sync. Does it really matter? I totally agree with Krisco, this IS where we seperate the teenyboppers from the REAL fans.
