i think this song is about how he has to go .. somewhere?.. and hes torn between being with her.. or having his "cake" it might have something to do with going on tour ... maybe. but im not sure. he wants what hes been working so hard for, but he wants her too. "can a postcard say what i see in your eyes" is like whatever they could write back and forth wouldnt do justice to the love he sees in her eyes. "would I be satisfied and find peace inside rolling half my life over broken white lines" hes not sure if he will be satisfied with going (im guessing) on tour and the "broken white lines" are those on the road. its a great song about being torn between love and success. johns amazing and always will be :) |

im shocked! this is me. its ME! you know when you find that perfect song to soundtrack your life? a john cd would definitely be the soundtrack of my life. his songs could play in the background of any given situation of mine. thats why i love him. this song relates perfectly to me. you want to say youre in love... but the other has no visible intention of taking it further. you feel like youre putting yourself out there almost.. and theyre not reurning it. it drives you crazy. i TOTALLY agree with the point when he says. "one more thing.. why is it my fault? all the way to the captain backfire part" the way he says it.. its so perfect for the song. the reason we all realte to him about EVERYTHING is because i think hes just a normal guy... he uses situations hes been in and puts them into beautiful poetry and music. he has no idea of his talent and still thinks of himself as a loser who just wants to be cool.. just like everyone does at some point.
