john farnam played jesus in a version in australia and he was so good it still moves me even now. He really gave it his all. This musical really annoys some christians because jesus is "too human" but isn't that kind of the point of why he was so good - the son of god living as a mortal to help others. i am not christian as such but i don't think jesus wasn't real or didn't do good, but maybe as judas says at the end - PR! |

When the refrain of this song is song with rauol in the phantoms lair i get chills up my spine the intent of the song becomes so sinister and wonderful. michael crawford is so good. i didn't really like the movie that much, i just thought that they made phantom too good looking. |

This song has nothing to do with sex, at least not directly. This song is is exactly how i have felt during periods in my life when i have been depressed. i agree that it is about phone sex, but i think it refers to being away from your partner all the time eg on tour and still wanting to have a sex life with them. and as he says it might give a new dimension to the relationship by being able to talk about things that you couldn't admit to in person. |

Well, this was an eye opener!! To be quite frank, I sincerely hope none of the people who have posted rather violent comments do not live in Australia.
The majority of eminem fans in my home town have the opinion that to enjoy his music you have to become like him - that is in dress and speak. Being a fan of eminem also excludes you from liking music in genres that attract less tabloid headlines, eg classical music, opera et al.
The other day a new friend of mine was going through my music collection and made a somewhat rude remark about the fact that I had The Marriage of Figaro sitting next to Encore. Why do some many people make assumptions about a persons character based on the music they like??
Reverend, any time you wish to come to Australia, feel free to look me up. I find your comments well thought out, and agree with most of them.
Everybody else - Music is supposed to be about self expression and joy, not anger. Try to remember that. |

We were in his convertabile and both really needed cheering up - he had broken up with his gf and i was having probs at uni; that day remains one of the best in my memory. My cousin went to Vietnam and had a similar experience when he came home, the backlash here in australia was that we were joining another country's war, that still doesn't excuse what happened to the vets. This song is so emotive, you do feel as if you were there. Billy Joel is a genius! |
