Well see, this is called avondale because its the side of town dan lives on, and the lines "i stuck a knife into his back, inventiveness is what i lack, he's always hanging up on loyalty" are a reference to an I12 song "doppelganger" the lines in that being "so take the knife out of my back, inventiveness is what you lack and i wont stand for this disloyalty" im not quite sure of the nature of the fight between them, but it has been around for a while although now, they are friends again. |

this song is actually about dan mclintock of inspection 12, its a long story, but no yellowcard's lyrics aren't all gonna be about this particular subject, ryan just needed to get this off his chest, and dan and ryan made up last month |

Actually this song was written before Scotty died. The album was finished when he passed away. This song is about one of the band's family members battle and eventual loss with cancer. But it does make you appreciate what you've got, and makes you sad at the same time. |
