| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Hard to Concentrate Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| ...Another way to look at it would be to take the song and say that it lines up with a wedding day itself. The day starts of with hustle and bustle and throughout there are the thoughts of the bride and the groom, and the "lone ranger" verse describes the wedding night after they have been formaly married. The music actually follows this idea, slowing down when they are taking their vows and then getting upbeat and louder when they would be consumating. | |

I agree that this song is great and I believe that I have something to add to the meaning - I think that the first verse “Hustle, bustle....deviate" has to do with the feelings that someone experiences before finding love. Especially in the lives of these musicians there has been hustle and bustle and the comment about muscle refers to the mechanical motions that somebody must do to keep up with the bustling world around them, but those mechanical, or muscle motions contain no soul, no substance. Because of the lack of substance the person begins to be torn apart, or "cells separate." The writer realizes this and also realizes that possessions such as money are temporary and fleeting. After this realization the writer says that there needs to be a change toward something that is long lasting, a deviation. - the second verse confuses me a little. I am not sure who the speaker is supposed to be, whether it is flea talking to his fiancé, or Anthony talking to his best friend. It could be them both switching back and forth. It makes more sense that flea would tell him fiancé "And, all I want is for you to be happy, And, take this moment to make you my family," but it seems conceited if the "And, finally you have found something perfect" line is supposed to be Flea talking to his girl. Perhaps this is supposed to be Anthony giving his approval of Flea's relationship. - The third verse appears to be about drugs with "death defying" "mess," or junk "buying" and ending up being unmotivated. Drugs appear to be what the writer first deviated to in order to change his mechanical life. But I am not confident in this interpretation - The fourth verse is about getting clean from with the help of an "estuary", or opening of a river, in this case the relationship between flea and his girl getting serious is both blessed and scary, and a deviation from drugs. - I believe that most of the rest of the song is about intimate love, and the process of taking somebody to be your wife, however the verse “My lone ranger… separate” deals strictly with intimate sex, and the love that comes from that. -One sidebar to that is the "And, finally you have found something perfect And, finally you have found… Yourself" line; I believe that Anthony wants to congratulate his friend on finding love, and at the same time comment about his friend being great, and perfect and finding somebody perfect A great thing about the Red Hot Chili Peppers is that their songs have substance and meaning behind them, that’s why I think this song is a little deeper than simply being a wedding song, its also a congratulations song, and a song about two really close friends growing up. Please feel free to leave opinions about my interpretation, this is the first song that I have commented on in years, and I would like to know what you think. |

I thought it was about them being in the spotlight before reading ShadowLives2 's comment. Read the last verse, i never even thought about the "Wait, back to the enemy of the state" part, it's that movie with the spyware that was supposed to keep a terrorist threat at bay. Good Thinkin Shadow |

| Rage Against the Machine – Sleep Now In The Fire Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| I think it talks about America because of the lyrics " I am the Nina, the Pinta, the Santa Maria" the next line may talk about the horrors within, the next two about the things America unleashes on the world. and the final two about America doing a lot of things it wants to because it can. GO AMERICA | |

| The Jimi Hendrix Experience – All Along the Watchtower (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| This is taken from a interpritation of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" and i agree with them. It could be about Jesus- Jesus is the Joker and the Thief is a Thief he was crucified with. If you are familiar with the Bible it seems to make sense as you read the lyrics. | |

I think it means: Everything can change, NOTHING is permanent. It's not only that good things can go bad, but bad things can go good....This song is not saying that everything WILL change, but that everything CAN. |
