Okay, my comment... This goes back to the thing about mtv, and how if they got on tv everyone will listen to them and spread the message. but that's not totally true. people will turn on their tv, and listen to the music, and will probably like it, but i'm sure half of them would just say 'oh this is anti-governemnt' get the wrong idea, and go around pretending to be anti-government. and i don't think we need more people like that. I mean, i'm sure some would agree. but think about the large sum of people that watch mtv...anyway, my second point was something to add to the fact that anarchy wouldn't work. i skimmed the larger posts, so if someone already said this, i apologize. anarchy wouldn't work, because there would be total chaos, and a lot of anarchists do agree with this, but they believe that after a certain amount of years it will settle down and whatnot. which is absolutely wrong, because obviously, someone will rise out of chaos. and we could end up with some dictator who's worse than the democracy we started with...alright. i am complete. heh. |

| Anti-Flag – You've Gotta Die for the Government Lyrics

oh. and about the punk being dead issue. maybe i'm just bringing it back to life (the issue, that is), but here goes...
as far as i know, punk rock started mainly as a 'destroy, destroy, destroy, etc' and that was all great and dandy then. but that's not what we need now. my feeling is that it has evolved into less of a destroy attitude and into more of a lets try and change it attitude. that doesn't mean it's dead, because basically the same ideas are still around. the dissatisfaction with the way things are, but the fun, the shows, and the MUSIC. the music... let's not forget the music...
what i'm basically trying to say is that punk may have died, but bands like anti-flag just prove the theory of reincarnation... |

hey, sorry i have to get into this because i'm probably just going to start a whole knew thing, but all you people talking about how they're anarchists and stuff. am i totally off, or are they socialists. i've heard that before, and at the last a-f show i was at, they were going on about 'fuck capitalism, fuck communism, fuck this, fuck that,' about every kind of government and whatnot, but they didn't mention anything about socialism... |
