this song makes perfect sense to me now or atleast its taken a new meaning i always thought it was about sex because of the 'i try to make you late' lyric, but i never listened to it all too clearly. "everybody makes mistakes but i feel alright when i come undone you are not making me wait but it seems alright as long as something's happening" he made a mistake to piss off this girl and while trying to reconvene the relationship shes being difficult with it but he doesnt care since shes giving him a 2nd chance. "get your payments from the nation for your trials and tribulations" i think what this means is shes a fucking attention whore and wants/has everyone feeling sorry for her. i connect too well with this song when i take this meaning |

sorry to be negative, but part of these lyrics just bugs the sin out of me. i dont think i articulated my point very well here. besides, i wrote that pretty hastly. if i based all my views on emo kids on just this one single thread, id probably be a fanboy and be buying buddy holly glasses right now. but from experience, i know its much different. youre right, there is always a group of 'us' and 'mes', but these emo kids piss me off as much as teeny boppers do. so i dont believe i ever said anything about the 'us' and 'mes' being wrong, just trying to make a point about this certain group. understood? as for "sound wont change...", that was worded pretty poorly. a band will evolve, sure, but i think there is a major difference between that and changing completely. people have already pointed out how blink 182 has completely changed their style, as well as other bands. i think you know exactly what i mean, but i just struck a chord with you since im on here talking about one of your 'favorite' bands. so, my biased older-brother, tell me.... what else have i sinned on? because i obviously arent 'hollier-than-thou'. if you/everyone here is so privy to what i have to say, then why does everyone still look like a fucking idiot? and fuck you to phoenix too. what do you know where i have and havent been? i tried to sit in that emo culture, tried to take it as my own but i got sick of all that damn crying. so dont tell me i dont know, because i know just enough. if your ass went to an emo show wear some jnco jeans and a fubu t-shirt on, your ass wouldnt get looked at funny? fuck you. from experience i see these emo kids thinking that everyone is against them, you gotta dress and do what they do. fuck that. so if i want to talk from experience, im going to. if you want to put on some emo music and cry me a river, thats fine too. to each their own, but let me voice what i gotta say. and yes, i have lots of time on my hands. |

this is ridiculous. listen to you emo faggarios talk on here, 'me, me, us, we..." like you set of kids have more meaning on this earth than anyone else. the emo sub-culture may be the most exclusive and unhospitable of all. if you dont wear the dickies or the buddy holly glasses, or the tight ass sweater, youre not emo and will never deserve to be. and if youre STILL listening to dc, you probably arent emo anyways. i admit, at one point i owned swiss army romance, man do i wish i could go back and erase that from my life. beautiful lyrics? you gotta be kidding me. these lyrics are almost as deep as puddle of mudds 'i love the way you smack my ass'. and MTV does ruin. but even more so are the record labels. whoever said it was all up to the musicians themselves is fuct up. record companies and their producers push bands to sound more mainstream so they can package that shit up and sell em to you kids that are so eager to eat it up. you dont even have to look any further than JEW to see that. and its ineveitable for any great band to become popular? thats a bunch of bullocks. if a band refuses to sign on to a major label, they arent going to become popular. AND I GUARANTEE THEIR SOUND WONT CHANGE. to this day i still hold on to the hope that the strokes will come back strong on a 2nd album and wont sound like shit. there are some of us that heard about them long before they hit america. |
