cool man ... taking back sunday is sweet. i personally liked them better when they were called saves the day ... at least converge is doing something that hasn't been done 200 times before. don't even start with playing instruments ... converge will ruin your fucking life on drums and guitar; just stellar musicianship. whatever though ... i'd rather eat dog shit than argue about music. |

This song holds true to (if not sets the prescident for) the theme of this album: breaking up. While other more intense songs like "lovebites and razorlines" and "motel of the white locust" focus primariliy on the rage and resentment that results from a bad break up, "when 1-8" instead looks more closley at confusion, pain and a sense of loss. I believe that the title of the song refers to the infinity symbol ( 8 ); two interlocking, unending circles breaking apart into two seperate units (not so concidentally forming zeroes). Songwriting at it's finest. |
