Everytime I here this song, it makes me just want to ask myself, "How can anyone come up with such a 'real life' song and make it sound this good?" P!NK, of course. I think that this song is about a man who is truly in love with a girl that is in another country. He is nothing without her and has been possibly 'dumped' by her, and he isn't going to give up on her just yet. |

I can see where Rach2109 is going. This song reminds me of my former boyfriend...I cry every time I hear this song because I miss the relationship that we shared before he was killed. And everytime I think about him, I fall apart. It's been over a year now, but I think about his beautiful smile every chance that I get...and all I can do is smile. |

I totally agree with bee happy. He is talking about a girl he knows, maybe his ex-wife. "Swallow all your bitter pills/ That's what makes you beautiful/ You're all and not/ I don't need what you ain't got." He is telling this person that the only reason they may be beautiful on the outside, but on the inside they have no heart, that they aren't perfect, and that he doesn't need them to survive in the world. I agree with all of you. To me, he is trying to say that you should be free to do whatever you want without having to be put down for it. Have more self-confidence. Don't listen to all the lies that people tell you in order for you to do what THEY want. Do what please YOU and only YOU. Don't be scared to be different. |

I feel that James is just trying to cope with the fact that his father was chosen to have cancer. It is hard for everyone who goes through something like this, and I feel that by expressing how you feel about something like this can really help you 'make peace' with yourself.
