I dunno about all this drag-queen stuff. I've always thought this song was pretty weird though, which is not to say that I don't like it. I always envisioned it kind of sci-fi, kind of a post-apocolyptic song...
Also, I would agree that our society IS way too tolerant of things, however, I don't think that this forum is the best way to discuss this, if anyone wants to talk about it, rationally [no FU bigot crap] I'd be happy to discuss it. |

Yeah, busically what I think that what Shawn is trying to say, and I would agree with him, is that Chris is not straight-edge, and even if he was, that motive would not make any sense for him leaving FSF considering that FSF doesn't drink, and members of Dashboard Confessional drink excessively on stage and flick off the audience. [this is true, I saw it at a show they played at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit]
Not that any of that really bothers me, I'm not straight-edge, nor do I listen to a band because I think they're a buncha nice guys.

Dashboard Confessional [which in its begining was just Chris and his guitar] and Further Seems Forever were at one point co-existing, in fact they even played a couple shows together [I think]. Eventually though, Chris decided he just wanted to devote all of his time to Dashboard Confessional.
Jason does a really good job singing for Further Seems Forever, I actually met him once and it was really great to find that he was a really nice person to talk to, as well as a fellow brother in Christ. |

My understanding is that this song was actually written somewhat as a joke. The guys from TJT were joking around with a friend who told them that a band doesn't get big until they have a song that says, "baby" in it. I like this song though, it's pretty catchy. |
